We must search our map for a near by town!

This fortress holds nothing for you now. It's time to seek out other lands... better lands.
Every self-respecting mushroom adventurer carries a map in their head!



Hmm. It seems there's a couple different places you could go.
What do you do?

Lets go east. Towards the town near sea. Ii appears there is a tomb as well. Go in this direction.

I don't really know how to read this map but i'll assume the + are human towns.
thus let us head east toward the town there.

Yes let us head to the EAST!

The sun's a little low



so you take a nice long nap at the fortress before you start, so as to avoid the boogeyman hours.



You wake at dawn




and after a quick meal of dwarven ale and stolen cabbages



you set out for adventure!



Your first steps away from the only settlement you've ever known! If you weren't such a stoic little mushroom, you'd be very excited indeed.



The swampy terrain at the mountain's base gives way in the east to hilly ground.



After several hours of wandering, you reach the lands of the humanfolk!



You soon find yourself standing upon the cobbled streets of the town proper.



The world's your oyster!

Lets look for a library!

Right then-- time to scour this town for a place of learning!
The ground here is sandy, startling red beneath the bright cobbles.



You peek into the nearest building. It appears to be some kind of clothes shop... you imagine the clothes must get rather gritty, sitting on the sand like that.



You wander down a nearby side street, passing more clothes shops and a block of abandoned housing.



You explore the house-block a bit, tiptoeing through broken walls and empty chambers... until you emerge suddenly next to a bustling marketplace!



Elves jabber eagerly over each other, declaring their wares for all to hear. You've little interest in such noise, and so you walk down a southern side street, soon coming upon a grand temple.



Beyond this temple lies only a pair of paltry storefronts.



You turn back north, and east of the markets. Here you find the town keep... and the end of the road.



The town is depressingly library-less. You begin to suspect the settlements of the world just haven't figured out libraries yet... in the meantime, though, you have more pressing concerns.



What do you do?

So I've been browsing the Legends Mode sitelist... and it seems there really are no libraries in this world. 
With that in mind, I'll give y'all a new option.



All this wandering has given you time to think.

You can't speak. You can't write, not unless you should somehow stumble on a library-- and that seems ever more unlikely. But perhaps... perhaps there are other ways to inspire dwarves. Perhaps there is a simpler way.

Dwarves love violence, yes? You remember that! Maybe if you did something really impressive... something to demonstrate your power, your greatness. Something... heroic.
Yes. Maybe if you did something heroic... then you could bend the dwarves to your indomitable will.

Perform a sufficiently legendary deed-- the slaying of a great beast, perhaps-- and I the GM will allow you control over a contingent of Fortress Mode dwarves from the half-elven fortress of Windquake. These dwarves will (for the most part) obey you to the best of their ability... at least, to the extent that they can understand your gestured commands.

First we need to find the legendary artifact "autohotkey" so we can quicky raise our skills.
