Episode 1.5?: Fate/Online Encyclopedia
Grail War
Turn 2: Off to a Great Star
(Initiative: Fig=10+1!, Tock=9+2, Haehyun=9+1, Genghis=9, Agatha=8, Honako=4+1, Sam=4+1, Gilgamesh=2+1 )"And the match is under way! Do forgive us if we don't have a whole lot to say from here on, not much we can say when everyone is private.Fig examines their surroundings and takes note of the various materials present, before turning to their Servant.
"D'Vinci, d'you think we c'ld make th's yer work-" They begin, only to be interupted by the clattering of wood and the banging of tools. They turn to see that Da Vinci is no longer by their side, and instead is already constructing away.
"One step ahead of you! Why, with an opportunity like this, how could a genius such as myself resist!" She says as she precisely reshapes one last undefinable tool.
"Well uh... c'ld ya m'be make me s'm more arm'r?" Fig replies, gesturing to their chestplate and helmet.
"Hmm, come over here, I'll take a look at it and see how long it will take!" Da Vinci beckons, and Fig trots over as the Universal (Wo)Man leans down to examing their equipment.
"Wow, and the caster is the first to move! Remind me to never get between a Renaissance Woman and her work.
"Indeed, with proper motivation a Servant can act far faster than they may seem.
Tock fished through her pockets. If she was lucky, the hosts may have graced her with some of the local fare. (1d10=4), no luck. While Tock found a decent sum, it was in Lien cards, not... whatever purely physical currency they use here.
"Oi!" She called over her shoulder to her Servant, "lets get movin'."
Carmilla sighs and straightens out. "Fine fine, let's be on our way." She says before turning around to follow Tock.
(1d10=9+1(Tracking(mitigated)))
While it isn't quite her area of expertice, it isn't hard to follow the largest congregation of footprints in the light dusting of dust and sand to track down a place people tend to congregate in the later hours of the day and early hours of the night. Namely, the pub.
Pushing open the door, she finds the place rather well occupied. Makes sense considering the hour.
(1d10=9), (1d10=8+2(Tracking))
But something catches her eye. A set of bootprints, very heavy and very flat, that lead away from and back to the gold statue garbed in real local clothes rather than gold ones, nestled into an indentation in the wall where it seems such a decoration was meant to go.
"Tock, acting on her skills as a bounty hunter, has entered a tavern. A location were rumors circulate freely."
"The question is, what will she find here?"
Haehyun eyes their surroundings through Jonryoku's cameras. The presence of the automaton and nearby guards will make this position a hard one to attack without drawing a lot of negative attention. The automaton fires the occasional shell or cluster of missiles over the wall, but seems to take little if any notice in the duo. Now it's just a matter of preparing for their arrival without arousing that same ire. "With me." 'Jonryoku' commands Faker, as you march him over to a corner where the outer wall and a building meet.
Not wanting to do much to incite hostilities with the guards at the moment, you don't do much more than pull a small cart into place and kneel behind it. It barely covers Jonryoku up to his chest even in his current pose, but it's better than nothing.
"Haehyun has chosen not to go on the offensive, but rather to shelter up where she started."
"An effective strategy. Due to the presence of the automaton, attacking this position will lead to a battle one two fronts."
Genghis Ham lets out an amused grunt and lifts himself from the ground. His low, rumbling voice speaks up, "I'll be honest, I'm not really a planner. But I've got a plan anyway." Looking up at the wall, he continues. "Instead of waiting for our enemies to come to us, we're going to come to our enemies. Specifically, the one enemy whose location we more or less know: The siege thingy. You'll hit it with your Noble Phantasm; having a powerful first strike is worth revealing one of our trump cards." He pauses for a moment. "Okay, maybe I am a planner."
Berserkers grin grows progressively wider as she listens to his plan. With a cackle, she responds "Kyahahaha! Well, it seems I've chosen a smart one, we'll see if you have the brawn to match your brain. If you prove useful enough, you may just be a worthy advisor when I return Mount Ooe to it's glory days."
Looking around the wall it's not hard to see where the occasional shots are coming from the problem is they're coming from right behind the front gates, which are heavily guarded. (1d10=10) It's also not hard to see that the walls are also guarded by archers as well. However, Genghis Ham believes their current position is currently less observed. If they're careful, they can scale the wall and get into the city, then stick as closely as they can to back alleys until they reach their target.
Now it's just a matter of... sneaking. As a duo of large pig-man, and smug oni warlord Berserker.
"Over here, there's less guards. We can get into the city without ever being seen."
(1d10=4+1(impressed))
"And so what if they see us? let them come, the great beast of Mount Ooe could use a challenge!"
(roll 1d10=5+1(impressed))
Genghis Ham calls out to stop the boisterous Berserker from simply charging in, but the attempt. At the very least, the route she takes it the moderately safe one. (1d10=9+1(Strength)) she leaps up the wall, anchoring her claws into it before using that handhold to propel herself over the wall and into the city before there's any time for a response.
Genghis Ham, seeing some level of opportunity from this, begins scaling the wall behind her while any potential guards nearby remain distracted. (1d10=8+1(strength)) he follows her route with slightly more care and somewhat more effort from his hefty body. (1d10=1+1(distraction)-1(size)) Except as it turns out, a massive porc doing such a thing is far more attention grabbing than a relatively small girl with horns.
"Monster!" the nearest archer cries as he readies his bow and fires a single arrow.
1d10=7-1(surprise) vs 1d10=8+1(durability)
The shots awkward angle causes it to merely scrape uselessly against Genghis' tough hide. Well, it seems like stealth is off the table.
"OOoh! And the first fight of the match begins, and not even intentionally!"
"Berserkers, by their very nature, are difficult to control. An aspiring Master must decide whether to simply set their Servant loose or attempt to reign them in regardless."
"I think you should disappear..." Agatha begins ominously, "and follow me!" she finishes.
"Oh, eheheh, alright then, I'll be... right behind you." Says Archer, and she vanished into a golden mist that rapidly faded.
Agatha turns to her monkey companion. "Mr. Monkey, could you make some noise for me?"
She evidently doesn't need to tell it twice, because the murderous machine immediately begins screeching, stomping, and slicing its blades together, eliciting a faint panicked 'NOBU!' from just out of sight. Not wanting to stay within the area of the attention for long, she immediately looks up to the rooves and, spotting a relatively concealed looking lip, jumps through the void, grabbing onto the ledge as she re-enters into reality and clambering over it to look down.
(1d10=6+1(Good Vantage)+1(Hint))
(1d10=7+1(perception)-1(distraction))(1d10=2+1(Good Vantage) vs 1d10=8+1(Skill))
Looking down over the area, she can see that people are quickly beginning to come not quite out of the woodwork but to the surface of it so as to observe the large mechanical Monkey making a ruckus. Off to the side ducking behind a short wall she spots what appears almost to be a small cartoon version of Archer clutching a matchlock like it's a teddy bear. What draws her eye however, is something very familiar. A pompous looking golden statue of a victorian englishman, wearing old british noble garb. You wouldn't even guess it was posed in such a way as to keep the monkey in its sightlines unless you knew it could move. She know though, a Golden Watcher. Well, it would seem she's found her Pinata.
"Agatha has left behind her Ally to create a disturbance and draw attention away from herself."
"Quite the interesting strategy, will it pay off? We'll see. That Golden Watcher she just spotted however, certainly will."
"And Honako has chosen to use her Start-Scumming capability. We've hidden the appropriate article for fairness, but in the place of the ability to Start-Scum she now possesses a nifty pair of Swimming Goggles imbued with Super Sea Snail power. Now if the war is nearing its end, in general or just for her, all of her energy will go into overdrive, replenishing twice as fast and draining only half!Honako stares up at
“Assassin, be a dear and create a dozen G-Men, would you? Send 7 to look for the other Masters, 2 into the city to look for whoever’s most important, 2 to find the chief of the Ma’Qwa, and the last one to look for an entrance to the Giant Automaton Mech."
Assassin nods. "Yes of course, men!" And with that single word, the number of Goverment Men multiplies until 12 stand before him. "You've heard your orders. Team Alpha, spread out through the city, track down the other Masters and report back. Bravo, stick together and locate important local officials. Charlie, head out of the city to locate the leader of the invading army. And uh... you, I guess you're Delta, you scope out the auomaton guarding the city, see if you can't figure out where it's controlled from."
And the G-Men scatter, breaking off into their respective groups each on their own mission.
”Bralog, go with one of the Master-hunting G-Men. If you see a Master that looks vulnerable, snipe them and teleport out. If they look like they could easily tank the shot, look for a different Master.” Honako continues, now addressing her extraterrestrial Ally
Bralog hears Honako's orders, and one could almost see the semblance of a smile come to his face. His body scatters into particles and rapidly warps over to the side of one of the G-Men. "You." he growls simply, and the Man in Black is quick to nod in compliance.
With orders doled out to subordinates, Honako turns back to her Servant. "Meanwhile, the both of us are going to go into that Palace and see if we can’t live there permanently.“
"Of course master." Assassin says, as the duo walk up towards the stone palace. Pushing through the large frontal door, they hear grunts of surprise, and are quickly greeted by a pair of guards who had been standing on either side of the doors.
"Who are you? You're not supposed to be here, this place is property of the city until it is bought." One says as the guards brandish their blades at the Master and Servant.
Assassin is quick to step in with a placating gesture. "And that's why we're here of course. This place is very beautiful of course, but we simply cannot be sure about spending so much until we've seen what it is like on the inside." He explains
(1d10=4+2(Espionage A))
"Really... well I can't say I've seen either of you in Abah's Landing before. And I doubt you're foreign traders, barely anyone has been able to get into the city with the savages at our gates." He says. It seems he's bought Assassins claim to your intentions, his suspicions now rooted elsewhere.
"And I can't say you believe that matters, right? This city is under seige, you need all the help you can get. If a pair of strangers are considering emptying their coffers into the cities treasury to buy a luxurious home, that should be encouraged, shouldn't it?" Assassin answers quickly, letting loose ever so slightly with his coercion.
(1d10=5+2(Espionage A)+1(Basic Coercion))
"You have a point. I suppose there's no harm in letting you look around long as you have an escort." He straightens up and sheaths his blade before continuing. "But you can't spend the night 'less you go out and buy it before the end of day. Wayron, go show the ladies around."
The other guard, apparently named Wayron, nods and gestures further in. "Right this way."
"A noteworthy example of the fact that even physically weak Servants excel in their particular specialties."
"Indeed, not many Servants who could so easily lie there way through a confrontation like this darling."
"Heh heh, what's the fun in killing random civilians? There's gonna be enough guardsmen and tribals to kill on our way to the mission." Sam says with a shrug and his signature smirk.
He tilts his head to the side in a simple gesture. "Come on, this way"
"Aww... you're pawsitively pawful Master." Jaguarman says, slumping forward and following him with a slow gait. Almost immediately she straightens up. "So where are we going?"
"That tower up there. From there we can spot everything we need to."
The two casually treck their way up to the base of the large observation tower just outside of the dock area, and enter the building to climb their way up the stairs. It takes some time, but shortly they've reached the top. A guard who seemingly had been relaxing up their at the time spots the clearly well armed man and the bizarrely dressed woman and jumps up. Before he can act however...
1d10=10+1(Speed)+1(Mad Enhancement) vs 1d10=3-1(surprise)
With an orange blur that even Sam could barely track with his skills, Jaguarmans clawed staff has ripped open the guardsmans throat, and her lips have latched around the open wound. Sam blinks at the goofballs sudden burst of violence, it's far from the worst thing he's seen, but it was unexpectedly abrupt. The womans lips detatch from the dead mans neck with an audible pop. "Ahh, much better, so, what were we doing up here again?"
"Keep your eyes peeled for the other guys. You know, the interdimensional people."
He says as he walks to the sides of the tower to do his own searching. At this moment, he's kinda wishing he had brought one of the scoped rifles. Instead, he hefted up his rocket launcher, a far less wieldy option for getting the zoom he needs, but the only one he really has.
(1d10=8-2(Big Distraction))(1d10=3-2(Big Distraction)), (1d10=3-2(Big Distraction)), (1d10=4-2(Big Distraction))
He manages to spot the automaton with little effort, sat right in front of the main gate lobbing missiles and mortars alike over the wall whenever too large a group of savages approaches. That's all he manages to really see though, because both his and Jaguarmans attentions are quickly attracted by the massive green brute climbing into the city over one of the walls and drawing the attention of the guards. Genghis Ham.
"Oh my, well, a deity will as a deity does, and human sacrifices are always on the menu for the mighty Jaguar."
"Regardless, it seems that Samuel has now located one of the opposing Warriors."
Gilgamesh grins as he looks up, Tamriel, he knows this place, and he especially knows what he can do here. Immediately he's on the search for Peng. Well, as uch of a search as he can manage without busting into peoples homes. As he moves, he pulls out a weapon from his collection, considering his great size and strangth, it's not likely to do anything worse for the guards reaction than simply being here. He draws a long katana from his back. And keeps drawing. And keeps drawing. The Masamune, a Katana that can best be considered excessive in length.
(1d10=1+1(Know what you're looking for))(1d10=9+1(humorous blundering))
Gilgamesh would have called his methods cunning and discrete. Any observer would call it bumbling and clumsy. The only true difference between the large Oni's Peng hunt and a bull in a china shop is the presence of any form of conscious intent.
(1d10=9)
At the sound of pompous laughter behind him, Gilgamesh's head whips around. Behind him, he sees the statue from the area he started. A perfect freeze-frame of mirth beginning to fade into shock emblazoned upon its face. Not only is it distinctly behind him rather than between its bushes, it is very clearly wielding a pair of similarly golden axes.
"Oho, good timing! A moment later and those could have been in his back!"
"While Gilgamesh's methods have proven unsuccessful at accomplishing his chosen task, they have allowed him to discover something else."
"And there you have it dear viewers, infiltration, preperation, info gathering, bloodshed, and battle, all in the opening moments. A perfect microcosm of the deadly game that is a Holy Grail War""The battle has now begun in full, time and the Fates will tell who shall be the victor, and how they achieve their victory."

Masamune- A legendary and incredibly long katana. +1 Speed, +1 Combat. Generates extra EX Force. High mystical weight
Genji Blade- A historical sword of some renown. Saps targets magical energy/whatever else when successfully attacking. Some mystical weight

Ammo: Pulse Rifle Mags
Mag: 1 action(Overheat)

Zero-Gravity Boots- Allows you to walk on any solid surface regardless of angle or composition effectively(effectiveness mitigated by presence of regular gravity)
Abilities:
Collector of Blades- Gilgamesh is an incredibly long lived and dedicated enthusiast of all forms of bladed weapon. May make a roll to identify any bladed weapon of notable importance(historical weapons, legendary weapons, artifacts, etc). However, he struggles to differentiate between a decently made knockoff and the real deal.
Master- You are a Master, in command of a Servant. This Servant draws on your Magical Energy to function, meaning that them using particularly powerful or large scale abilities can be draining. You have three Command Spells, these can be spent to give the Servant an absolute order that cannot be disobeyed, or to do some things that would be otherwise impossible, such as directly empowering their abilities, or teleporting them to your location.
Gilgamesh Morphing Time- When your EX Force is at maximum, transform into your true form, giving you eight arms, each wielding a random weapon from your collection(can wield multiple of the same non-excalibur weapon). All weapons non-damage effects are applied to all attacks in this mode. EX Force is generated when attacking(whether successful or not) but is only absorbed while not actively trading blows. EX Force slowly drains while in this form.
Strongest Sword- A combo of five attacks with Exalibur(or Excalipoor) followed up automatically by Ultimate Illusion if done correctly. To initiate the attack, you must pick one of eight swords. 7 Excalipoors and one Excalibur. You may spend a bonus action to roll to determine which one is Excalibur, or just pick at random. Spends the remainder of your EX Gauge and may only be used during Gilgamesh Morphing Time. If you pick Excalipoor... then you use Excalipoor, need I say more?
Ultimate Illusion- A strike that sends several bursts of magic erupting forward from the ground. Deals heavy damage and hits in a small area. Can be used in place of the full Strongest Sword.

You regenerate 10% aura per turn, but do not regenerate on a turn where you receive damage.
Semblance; Invulnerability- Your semblance, a unique ability fueled by your aura. This semblance causes you to become completely invulnerable for 3 turns. When the effect runs out, your aura automatically breaks.
Additional:
Thrill of the Hunt- Tock is a sadist, other people are considered prey to her. While she is not foolish enough to simply attack civilians in the streets, her cruelty still shines through in other ways, and she enjoys playing with her opponents in battle.

Abilities:
Soft-Baked- You're a soft-baked cookie with a fruity filling. +2 Durability against blunt weapons, +1 against piercing weapons, -2 against slashing weapons.
Built Blood- Your body is filled with far more fig jelly than usual, meaning it takes much longer for you to bleed out(as if it didn't take long enough when your 'blood' was barely liquid), and also that you're somewhat pudgy from all the extra filling.
Additional:
Welc'me to the for'st!- Your accent, though unplacable in origin, is thicker than molasses in winter. As such, you tend to omit a vowel or two from most words when you speak, and people besides your Servant may struggle to understand you.
I remember a story like this...- You have an extreme fondness for telling stories. Some fictional, others events you have experienced.
Alright, here you go with the turn. I'll post your private sheets soon. Once again please make sure only read your own spoilers(I mean, outside of the Public Sheets section of course, those are fine, they're made to be public)
