"My, my, always so caring, Gunvald. Your help is always appreciated. And missed."

"I will always count you among my students, Emma. I will always fear for your steel, no matter how fine your silk."

"I suppose that's true. You always were so considerate. Oh well, guess I'll have to find.....other ways to prove my maturity."

Burhardt's brow furrowed. Emma had no need to prove her maturity to him. It was more than apparent that she'd grown into a capable and intelligent young woman. He could have wished for no more for one of his students. Sometimes, he wished that Eydis had become more like Emma... Though the princess was more battle capable than he could ever have hoped. Perhaps too much so.

"Don't we still have a battle to win?"
"Oh we do. But at this point it's less a question of if we'll win and more one of when. The bandits don't seem to realize the futility of this yet, but sooner or later..."

"Quite the opposite, it feels quite fittin', especially when we are doing nothin' in the back row. A single bridge to cross might make this take a while."
"But I get it, ya just tryin' to dodge that topic, so I will just let it slide. I am sure those nailheads will do somethin' stupid soon so I can have a chuckle again.""

For his part, Burhardt did seem to be genuinely confused. "...But did you not just lambast Fionn for making similar jokes? To the point of threatening him to get him to stop? I feel like I've lost the thread of conduct once again."

"...Boy, ya really got a lot to learn if ya take smoochin' jokes on the same level of what that cockatoo was aiming for. Especially cause in his case he wasn't even jokin' around, so I can only hope ya get lessons from someone, cause I ain't about to teach you any of that."
