Thanks.  I had actually pictured them in the middle of the beer hall, but your picture makes more sense.  That should help in my future writing.

I think the up-facing side of the hilt guard kind of reads as the rear-side armpit, implying a flat chest. I also challenged myself to not use boobs as a defining feminine characteristic*, but this also helps the former misconception.

*I used to draw a comic for the high school paper, the characters were an animal humanoid-style like this (way before I'd ever heard of a 'furry' character) the principle called me into the office because a female character, a cat or fox or something, humanoid covered in hair, had breasts and he saw it as nude. My main character was a male vilocoraptor who didn't wear clothes(titular character of this 'Ryan the Raptor' comic strip set in highschool, and previous comics with Ryan hadn't been a problem). It was all very much in the spirit of warner bros animal characters like Bugs and Daffy. At least in my head, admittedly the proportions were more real. Anyway, I didn't really get in trouble, but they wouldn't run it, and it was in the back of my mind making this.

That all said, flat-chested women can be feminine, so maybe I need to work on bringing that out more next-time.
