Now a group of sleeping dwarves waiting as one talks to another, probably in a beer hall.
Lets see how close you get to the picture in my head.
I actually had a similar idea for an artist and writer to develop their skills. The writer tries to describe a scene, the artist tries to draw it, and they compare how close they were to the other's mental picture.
"A group of 5 dwarves in Steel breastplate with Steel horned helmets are in a beer hall. The fire is burning in the brick fireplace. Three are sleeping in wooden chairs. One has their bronze two-headed battleaxe next to him on the ground. One, a female dwarf with red braided hair has a steel mace at her belt. The final male dwarf has his spear laying on the ground with a steel head.
A meager settlement, the dwarves are wearing brown cloth or leather pants. Only the sleeping female has iron greaves strapped to her legs. The two standing dwarves are male, one shorter with a small beard is talking to the taller one with the long but thin beard. The shorter dwarf has on a pair of thin steel spectacles. The shorter dwarf is talking with a beer mug in his hand and a cheap copper sword on his belt in a ragged leather scabbard. The overhead lanterns are off, the roaring fire the only source of light. The full moon is visible through the window. An Easel is next to the taller dwarf."
What about beaver terrorists with assault rifles?
Or just do that...
