McUrist is randomly horrified
« on: August 13, 2019, 10:19:12 am »

I've got dwarves getting horrified during random things, like engraving walls. No corpses or ghosts anywhere around. Is this a bug?

Check their thoughts and preferences.  They are likely just reliving some horrific memory while doing their other random activities.  Could also be a ghost causing it.  It's a feature, not a bug.  Adds to the challenge.

Eventually they will get over it, and sometimes it changes their personality.

But it won't happen to me, my bit doesn't count etc etc... Just saying, after my recent experiences I couldn't trust the public if I wanted to. People got their risk assessment neurons rotten and replaced with game theory. Folks walk around like fat turkeys taunting the world to slaughter them.

Friends and family not getting properly memorialized also causes horrified thoughts when they start rotting. A slab and magma dump isn't that costly dude.

They are horrified by flashback of violent memories. Sometimes they eventually change their opinion on certain things.

You'll how similar they are to human when they make so much philosophical debate in their mind out of a mere dead troglodyte.

Damn it, dwarves are supposed to be badasses who can't survive with booze, not freaking out about a single dead goblin.
