There are. You sneak around to the other side of the tree, and grab a dress, stuffing it in your backpack. The rest are not easily grabbable from your postion. The clothesline is big enough to walk on, but wiggly.

A sandal flies at you, but you catch it in  midair, and stuff it in your backpack. Clothes are now littered around the central square, and blowing around in the gale. You have not been noticed, luckily.
