We need to specify what power we give him, I can’t think of one right now, but will edit my post upon thinking of one

My new vote is in my post below this one

A to the second resolution.
Grant our prophet wings, that he may explore the world, and eyes of flame, that he might see the world better than ever he had before!

We want subtle powers right? Stuff that will make other guys listen to our prophet, without seemingly overtly mystical.

What about giving him a greatly enhanced capacity to learn new skills? It would benefit him directly, would make him more useful and more influential to other Osterat, and it's in keeping with our theme of discovery.

And that's just assuming we can only give him one thing at a time.

First one:
Disdain for Dhiruer has not gone anywhere. It doesn't matter if their actions were justified or not; a god of pestilence and sorrow was not going to be doing anybody any favors to begin with.
There is no disdain for the current Osterat. There's pity for them and their current state. If there's any left over from the original events, however...
There is disdain for the old Osterat. Their brutality makes them worthy of it. The murdering of Dhiruer's messengers... the murder part is bad, but Dhiruer was also a prick not worth dealing with.
We want subtle powers right? Stuff that will make other guys listen to our prophet, without seemingly overtly mystical.

+1 to both

In our bid to rebuild and reform the Osterat, we should make a clear expectation that our prophet and those who emulate him are to be teachers of enlightenment. We are god of Discovery, we make opportunities to do so rather than enslaving the lesser or ignorant.

If we can get our talons on the fire staff (or any similar artifact) we might be able to make it operational again. That would be something both useful for showing off and familiar enough to them that they could accept it easily.

Upon hearing these things your disdain for Dhiruer has deepened into a profound loathing, and while your pity toward the current Osterat is unchanged, the actions of their ancestors leave you with poor taste. You determine that a prophet is needed to bring your message unto the unwashed masses, and who better than the first among their kind to hear your name? Though he is no worshiper of you, he shall nonetheless be blessed and go forth to set an example and teach his kin.

This is an unusual exception and in time, might become a part of your legend. As Urul recounts the story of his starving childhood, remorselessly recounting the unfortunate times he was forced to steal to survive, you consider what manner of blessing he is to receive. In time, you come to a decision and at the moment of doing so, strike him with an ephemeral flame. It sears into him, sharpening and broadening his mind until it is no less than five times his closest peer's superior. Likewise, his soul is set aflame with an urge not only to learn, but to teach and spread the wonders of discovery. There is no pain, only heightened understanding and the subtle agony of knowing that there is yet more that he does not know. He falls to his knees, resisting for a moment with gritted teeth before succumbing and giving you his thanks. The prophet does not worship you but he has become of you, now and forevermore. You lay one hand on his shoulder and speak, each syllable emanating authority.

"Go forth my blessed prophet, and teach."

He responds with the fervent desire to discover. "If that is what ye ask of me, then ye shall receive." Before leaving him to his sacred task you endow him with a sixth sense, the capacity to detect even the faintest moisture nearby, amplifying his ability to survive. Vanishing in a burst of flame, he senses your presence watches over him and leaves in the direction of where those shortsighted mortals built the cookfire.

The Osterat Urul has become the first of youe Champions, a prophet blessed with supernatural cunning!

You feel you've done adequately here, but what should you do now?

A) Spend the next decade watching over your prophet and orchesteating events to ensure his success.
B) Bring the wonders of discovery to the most curious clan of Osterat you can find over the course of years.
C) Leave the wastes of Osterat to their own devices and travel to another, perhaps more hospitable plane.
D) Do something else entirely. [Specify]

+1. We should only leave once we’re confident that he can keep the whole thing self-sustaining. Otherwise he’s probably just going to get lynched.

We shouldn’t just orchestrate events ourselves, though; we should help him to develop his own ways to spread his word, so that when it is time to leave, he doesn’t need our help conducting his task.
