I'm thinking should we try to find an opportunity to bring home the riffle before the time skip? We can't really keep an eye on it while it's in the tunnels.

If you wanna hide the rifle in Ali's home, then you better decide where to hide it or alternatively how to camouflage it. It's pretty big after all, so you can't just hide it under her bed.

one day once we learn enough we join Ali in her studies, and be always thinking "the more I learn, the more I will be able to control my life"

We promised not to go back there again, so no getting the rifle.  But I think we should practice flying, try out lots of new foods, and maybe explore a little.

We promised not to go to the drug dealers grow lab, but the rifle is in the maintenance tunnels. so going to get the rifle will not break our promise to not go back.

Unless we find a way to sell or use it, the rifle is safest where it is. It's more likely to be found in the apartment, and if it is found it's more likely to raise questions we'll have to deal with. Even if someone finds it there, it won't be linked to us. Given we have no real use for the thing, it's not worth the added risk just to have slightly easier access to it.
