Why are we being hostile?
Let it pass, no need to escalate if it hasn’t found us

It's at least not totally broken because it's saying things.  If we break the droid the rest of the way it can probably also be fixed if we want to.  The datapad is less likely to be able to take damage without breaking completely, being more fragile.

You're not going to let the droid damage your loot. Sure, it might have been in your possession for less than a minute, but that's more than enough time to make it yours!
"-models so old you can barely find the parts to-"
You wait for the droid to get close enough and then pounce. It doesn't react to you, doesn't turn its head to face you as you slide through the air, not until it's too late. Maybe it really is blind. You slam into it, raking your claws across its torso as you do so. Its armor is too thick, too sturdy, your claws do nothing more than leave a few small scratches. The force of the impact is enough to make it lose its balance. It lands on its back and you land on top of it, doing your best to keep it down.
"-least the damn things are sturdy. End message."
You try to close your jaws around its neck while holding its arms down, but it reacts with surprising strength and speed, twisting out of the way, freeing one of its arms.
"Engaging."
It wastes no time, throwing a punch powerful enough to knock the wind out of you and throw you off it. You are left on the floor, coughing and gasping for air. The droid on the other hand easily twists around, gets on its knees and starts rising to its feet. There's nothing in its motions that betrays pain or any other sort of emotion you'd expect from someone who'd just been ambushed. This isn't going to be an easy fight.
"-ake any sense! I've checked and-"
You could just grab the datapad (and maybe a few tools if you're very quick) and run. Or maybe you could use a weapon or some other trick to defeat it. Or maybe you should just try again and try to do better this time.

Don't leave the shiny.  Take the datapad and use it to lead this thing to a pit or a shaft.  I bet falling will do bad things to it.

it’s after us now. It punched us very hard, I think we should leave it alone. I think we shouldn’t have attacked it in the first place

But all the best shiny is guarded.  If we only take what's out there to be taken, then all we're taking is garbage.

Besides, we're not badly wounded at all.  It just means we need to do better.  I mean, we're a dragon.  There are fights to run from, but this robot isn't one of them.

Yeah.  And we're still fine for status.  It was a hit, but not a serious one.  I'd say all that hit means is that we now know it could hit us hard enough to do damage, and it's sturdy enough to not die easily.  It doesn't mean we can't win.

Plus, you know, this is Treasure!  Treasure is either guarded or it is hidden away.  We came here looking for treasure.  We found something that isn't only just hidden, but is both hidden and guarded.  That must mean it's really special treasure!
