Is that a typo, or is Cordite supposed to only cheapen primaries and secondaries but not tertiaries?

You also MIGHT want to set a cap of how many ships per team. Beyond having to wait on a ton of people in possibly different timezones, there's also the fact that each ship has something like 80pts of free stuff. More ships means more 'free stuff' for that team.

Aaaand if you're down to no ammo magazines, can only fire once every two turns, does that mean you can no longer pathfind since you're not firing consecutively?

I think the team bonuses are mostly nicely balanced, but one things sticks out: Liberty for small ships can save up to 10r, pre-dreds 14r and dreds 18r. But team MF gives a nice 20r for 1 pathfinders, AND an extra damage control. Just thought I'd mention.


Depending on the team bonus, this will get tweaked (definitely including 1 of the guns upgraded to primary). I can't really decide which team bonus yet, so I'll come back a bit later to choose and tweak.

Oof. The Armor change is painful to see; in spite of the cost bracket I wanted to fit in being relaxed it still punted me clean above it... Would require some thought.

Unless I am not the only one who wishes to be French (MF)?


Also, McDreich, from what I understand, you only lose Rangefinding bonus if you switch targets and fail to keep shooting at your initial target. That is, if I remember Piratejoe's brief stint into multi-targeting right.

Anyhow, my ship, that will of course be tweaked dependent on team:

Redwolf, 2 things, first the Doggo as is costs 74 points as is, not 87. So you can still spend a few more points and slide under the margin for Light if you wish.

Welp, luck continues to be terrible I see...I was hoping to be able to take out the sea beetle first but the numerous turrets taken out and the fact that the sea beetle rolled a decent amount of 6's after its tower was taken out didn't help matters.

I agree with you, it's how I imagine the rangefinding thing will work, but thought I'd get confirmation on that.
I may end up desiring MF myself, it's easiest to work with. Looking closely, the Cordite one helps the bigger ships, but not the small ones. French one is outright pretty good no matter what, easy to use. 20pts saving is big just from one rangefinder. The German one allows you to really make tanky ships, though often to design around the bonuses, at the expense of some firepower and redundancy. The USS one is just outright weak from what my mathhammering tells me. Unless you've no intention of taking Pathfinding... why you would do that? Shrug! :P.

Personally, I would've doubted your ability to sink the Sea Beetle, Naturegirl had 20 HP left at the end of this encounter, and had plenty of redundant guns and a good chunk of structural bulk to soak up damage with; honestly, the fact that you nailed her single bridge and engine room instead of mangling a good chunk of those first was extremely lucky. All in all, your only chance was to also nail her single magazine (which still had a bit of armor plating); but even then you were at the point there for a little while that the Doggo had a good shot of being able to finish you solo.

Heh. Yeah, staying in the Medium Size Bracket was priority #1, yeah I can't grab a lot of armor but not giving the enemy +1 to hit is nice, you know? More points for the teammates too.

...Maybe the guy painting on the ship's name slipped on the F?

USS Cruiser saves up 18R (9x2), USS Pre-Dread saves up 22R (11x2), USS Dreadnought saves up 26R (13x2), compared to flat 20R saving from French bonus ;v

And no, you don't lose bonus if you don't keep firing - just when you switch the target to a new one.

ohhh, so the USS buff applies to the freebies aswell!!! Yeah, that makes a nice difference for pre-dreds and up, for sure. Still think MF's stronger cos it not ONLY saves resources, but also gives an additional repair team.

Well, French bonus now lowers only by 50%!

USS Cruiser 10R < French Rangefinders 15R
USS Pre-Dread 14 R < French Rangefinders 15R
USS Dreadnought 18 R > French Rangefinders 15R

I dunno how much is extra Damage Control useful, especially on Dreadnoughts which already have 3 Teams at the ready ;vc
