Fire all secondaries, main cannon, and torpedo tubes at the Explodable.  Dacon Main Battery (not that it matters)

DC5 Main: 4+1+1+1-1-1 = 5 => 5, hit! Comproll: 9, UC4 Empty Compartment is hit for 2 Damage!
DC3 Secondary: 2+1+1+1-1-1 = 3 < 5, miss!
DC4 Secondary: 4+1+1+1-1-1 = 5, hit! Comproll: 6, UC1 Empty Compartment is hit for 1 Damage!
UC1 Torpedo (1st): 1+1+1+1-1-1 = 2 < 5, miss!
UC2 Torpedo (2nd): 5+1+1+1-1-1 = 6 => 5, hit! Comproll: 2, UC2 Ammo Magazine is hit for 2 Damage and is Destroyed! 1 Armour Plating destroyed!
Ammo Magazine roll: 3, nothing happens.
SMS Explodable has been sunk by RN Virtually Sunk Already's attacks!

The barrage struck down SMS Explodable, and the torpedo gave the final explosion that tore the ship in two and sent it beneath the waves!

Well, as I said, the game needs a rehaul.

I will be upping or changing Tonnage, probably raising cost of ship while also adjusting things.

Yeah, the SMS bonus really needs a tweak. Currently as it stands the costs of their ships massively spikes if you want to actually take advantage of their team bonuses, and they have to pay more for vital components as well.

Revised so far:

Ships now cost more; 72 Cruiser, 95 Pre-Dread, 150 Dreadnought, 205 Battleship (new class), whilst Compartments only a bit pricer.
Restricted guns: Main Batteries at Pre-Dread and higher, Heavy Batteries (4dmg, 2 turn reload) on Battleships only, mains&heavies also come with number limitation.
Tonnage adjusted; Light (under 150) gives -1 enemy hit, Medium (151-280) +2 HP, Heavy (above 280) +1 enemy hit but also +4 HP. Max Tonnage per ship is now 450.
Compartments now equally divided top and under: 4 for Cruisers, 5 for Pre-Dreads, 6 for Dreads and 7 for Battleships.



...I'm also considering starting SPAMDESIGNER or some such, which would use Battelships! thingies and SPAMKINGDOM format to play a singplayer Arms Race thing. Such an unholy blend can be nothing else but wondrous or a disaster.

I still think the fleet bonuses need a tweak, but the changes seem solid thusfar.

Bigger, more expensive ships get more powerful tools and longer staying time.  Players are encouraged to kit out their ships, and smaller ships become less cost-efficient. The Analogue Calculator in particular is a great addition - it helps even the power imbalance from "Lots of Little Ships" vs "Few Big Ships".

I'd have to mock up a few test ships, though, to get a good feel for how the ships would compete.
