RN Virtually Sunk Already vs SMS Explodable:
DC5 Main: 4+1+0+1-1-1 = 5 => 4 < 5, miss!
DC2 Secondary: 3+1+0+1-1-1 = 3 < 5, miss!
DC3 Secondary: 1+1+0+1-1-1 = 1 < 5, miss!
DC4 Secondary: 2+1+0+1-1-1 = 2 < 5, miss!
UC1 Torpedo (1st): 3+1+0+1-1-1 = 3 < 5, miss!
UC1 Torpedo (2nd): 6+1+0+1-1-1 = 6 => 5, hit! Comproll: 3, UC4 Empty Compartment is hit for 3 Damage!

The torpedo hits SMS Explodable!

That permanent -2 to hit is gonna be rough, but at least the torpedoes didnt hit anything critical.  Looks like he wont be picking on the Freedom any more.

Edit: actually, damn.  I didnt hit with my main cannon.  He has extra evasion due to his diesel engines, I should have missed. (4+1+1+0-1-1)

Man, what a crappy round for me.

(Does having one ammo Room allow 2 shots and an extra allows 3 shots?)
If I can only fire two, then Fire Main and Tertiary at Virtually Sunk Already

DC4 Secondary: 4+1+1-1 = 5 => 5, hit! Comproll: 7, UC1 Engine Room is hit! 1 Armour Plating destroyed!
DC5 Secondary: 6+1+1-1 = 7 => 5, hit! Comproll: 6, DC6 Tertiary Battery is hit for 1 Damage!

The barrage damaged many things on board SMS Turtle!

So +1 for rangefinding state I understand, but why -1? I'm still at quarter speed and Turtle does not seem to be taking evasive maneuvers, which should give me +1 (QS) -1 (enemy has diesel engines) = +1 total modifier (taking into account the +1 from the rangefinding), right? Or am I forgetting a bunch of things (which seems likely)?

DC2 Secondary: 5+0-1+1-1-1 = 3 < 5, miss!

RN Freedom II vs SMS Turtle:
DC4 Secondary: 5+1-1+1-1 = 5 => 5, hit! Comproll: 4, DC4 Secondary Battery is hit for 1 Damage!
DC5 Secondary: 6+1-1+1-1 = 6 => 5, hit! Comproll: 9, UC3 Ammo Magazine is hit for 1 Damage!
Ammo Magazine roll: 1, EXPLOSION! Damage: 1+3 = 4 Damage!

All but one shell from RN Freedom II's guns missed, but the one that hit, hit the enemy ammo magazine, blowing it up! The fireworks were less than spectacular, however.
