Oh, so the rangefinder gives you a flat +1 in addition to the gradual increase ( -2 to +1). That makes sense, thank you for the clarification.

DC2 Secondary: 6+1+0+1-1 = 7 > 5, hit! Comproll: 8, UC3 Engine Room is hit for 1 Damage!
DC4 Tertiary: 4+1+1+0+1-1 = 6 > 5, hit! Comproll: 4, DC4 Secondary Battery is hit for 1 Damage!

The barrage from MF Bone Apart damaged HMS Doggo, the most critical of the hits being at the engine room!

hold up. Hammertime's attack on archer fish. +1 for rangefinders. 0 or rangefinding. -1 cos small target. Both are normal speed. Where has that additional +1 come from? If that's not there, the main guns wouldn't hit.

The barrage from HMS Freedom damaged MF Par Excellence quite well, but it was subsequent fire and explosion in the ammo magazine that blew a hole in the latter's deck!
