A bunch of my dwarves don't wear armor that is available to them.

Uniform is set to the squad. Replace armor, partial matches. Checked and confirmed the free pieces of armor are not forbidden, not involved in a task, and are not owned. So....? How do I get my guys to actually *pick this stuff up*?

Try to order the squad to 'm'ove to a location, or set up a barracks for them to 't'rain at. I don't know which it is, but there is a 'first time' trigger of some sort that tells dwarfs to switch from their civilian uniform to their military uniform and once they do, they will start wearing it and keep upgrading it. Also, make sure that none of these dwarfs have mining/woodcutting/hunting enabled, since those 'work uniforms' can conflict with the 'military uniforms'.

There is something to be said about, if the stakes are as high, maybe reconsider your certitudes. One has to be aggressively allistic to feel entitled to be able to trust. But it won't happen to me, my bit doesn't count etc etc... Just saying, after my recent experiences I couldn't trust the public if I wanted to. People got their risk assessment neurons rotten and replaced with game theory. Folks walk around like fat turkeys taunting the world to slaughter them.

Did they lose it in a bin somewhere? As in, it's there in a bin but they're just refusing to use it?
