Hi, new to this fourm. I want to do a modded hell on DF, yet whenever I start up, I can't see any mods running.

I tried installing the mods and I get this message.


How do I install the mods without seeing this message and get them working?

A literal answer is that mod conflicts are caused by raw duping. Raw duping is when you have two files with the same entry name. For example, you can't have two files called "CREATURE:HUMAN" or the like. To get them to work together, the names of the conflicting files need to be adjusted to make them different. If you give me a copy of your Dwarf Fortress folder, I can take care of it for you.

*Edited to say "make them different". Removing the differences was the opposite of what needed to be done.

Oh, I didn't mean just the raw folder. Lazy Newb Pack didn't let you install the mods the way you were trying to do it, since that would have broken the game. I need your full Dwarf Fortress folder.

Alternatively, I could just download these mods and link them up myself, but that might not work with the LNP. I haven't used it, so I'm not sure.

*Alright, this seems more complicated than expected, because I don't understand the LNP very well. Which version did you download? I'm having trouble figuring out how you got a version of the pack with that combination of mods in it.

**Ok, I think I've got the idea. I just dump them together in the mods folder, right? It'll probably still take longer than anticipated, but I can do it now.

***I was tracking down and downloading the various mods. What is "TDnD"? Also, where'd you find "Mushroom graphics Non-TWBT"? I'm also leaving out the Final Fantasy mod, since it's too outdated.

ROTMK had a download of that Mushroom Graphics.

The version I have is PeridexisErrant's Starter Pack 0.44.12-r06

Still working on the combined mod. I'm going to leave out a few of the mods, since they weren't intended to be merged. Modifying them for it would take too long and require as much effort as making a small new mod from scratch. What's left should be more than enough content for the pack.

*Were you set on these particular mods? I can go through them, clean them up, and get you a modpack eventually. However, looking through them, I can probably build you a similar, but possibly somewhat better and more stable modpack if you don't mind me picking out the mods.

Just wanted to give you a progress update, I'm almost done. I got most of the mods in, deleted some that were too buggy or cumbersome to merge easily, and should be done soon. Just need to do some bug fixing.
