"Treacherous" is an estimate of the speed/predictability of the current; depth is by far the lesser hazard. I think our wagon bed is about three feet off the ground; once the water is that deep we have to caulk anyway to keep the supplies dry so we might as well float. We're a riverboat preacher, let's sail!

For sickness, did we administer Epsom salts? I have no idea if they have any effect (I rather suspect they don't) but at least it's in the options.

Don't trade our oxen.

Oh certainly I did not trade our oxen.

And yes, we did administer Epsom Salts. At least, the panicking localfolk from the last Cholera outbreak said salt was ideal for treatment.

It could be safer if he just like, stopped drinking water, maybe?

Anyway we have arrived safely at FORT JOHN, also known as FORT LARAMIE according to my guide. They are quite well stocked with supplies, with a general store, blacksmith, and stable. Many of the caravan want to take a day or two and have a party for some R&R. We can do that, or basically tell them to suck it up and get back on the wagon.

They have an impressive variety of food, liquor, guns, medicines, and tools here. There are also many other trailbound merchantfolk hereabouts ready to trade. Apparently it is a major hub for traveling traders.

I purchased many dried foods, as they were quite cheap here.

We have $60.07 remaining. We have of 186lb of dried fruit and vegetables , as well as 100lb of dried beans, 90lb rice, and 200lb of plain flour. Our original bacon stores sit at 238lb, because we left town at the start with basically all of the bacon that was commercially available.

Presumably the flour gets cooked into avocado toast or something.

Extra: I note that they have livestock such as chickens for sale. The guide says these can produce eggs. They are bit expensive, though not prohibitively so at 3$ a cluck.

Buy the Liquor! Don't let the peasants drink the pond water anymore!

You can fake being able to run on water. You can't fake looking cool when you break your foot on a door and hit your head on the floor.

But only the good stuff.

They have whiskey and brandy. Presumably both are quite powerful, as they can also do double duty as medical supplies.

I forget whether chickens also require feed. Also, how's the ammo supply for hunting?

This can't be a Bay12 game if we don't buy ALL OF THE ALCOHOL!
