We bought the snake oil for a reason.

We bought the snake oil for a reason.

HUMAN EXPERIMENTATION Birdvig needs James Fever Powder.

Sadly, the option to use [Magic Power] is not present. It seems to only provide 1-2 treatment options per condition. Presumably the powder will become useful upon contracting a fever?

Anyway we continued on slowly. No complications have become apparent in Birdvig's condition, much to the secret chagrin of Urist McDwarf. Maybe he wants his banjo, or his tin cup. Drama on the trail is thickening.

We continued for some distance without incident, hunting some deer and carrying like, eh, some of the meat back. Our next scenic overlook appears to be the famously scenic Coastal Nebraska. If we are at Nebraska we are making good time indeed.

Spoiler: Beach photos (click to show/hide)

We have around 600lb of bacon/meat combined, and 16 5-lb sacks of dried vegetables. We have used 3/20 boxes of bullets and around half of our gunpowder, meaning we have plenty more to rat-a-rat into some wildlife that we may or may not eat.

Sadly, when I went to look for them, they had already gone while I was checking supplies.

There is, however, this woman.

That is indeed the long way to reach Texas. Not the longest, I suppose. She could have gone south.

Pardon?

I would like to hear more from this navigation expert.

Tell me more

We need to learn more about her before having her come with us, also this trail doesn’t lead to Texas, so she’s either lying or doesn’t know where Texas is

Well I believe she is part of the Wagon Train, there are some other folks with wagons who we are more or less keeping pace with.

We also met a number of other interesting characters during our time socializing. While moving on to the nearby Plum Creek and looking for additional friends, one gentleman threatened to stab us outright if we pass him on the trail. Trail rage is alive and well. I forgot to take his photograph.

As we seem to have exhausted all opportunity for conversation....Onward! I didn't think the rando folks along the way would be so entertaining, I'll make a habit of hittin' up the locals for talk going forward.

Spoiler: Uh-oh Spaghettios (click to show/hide)

Anyway, I have no idea what to do whatsoever. The guide says feed em' salt. We ain't got no salt. What good is Duffy's Elixir anyways if I cant pipe it into someone to solve literally anything? It's an elixir, that's what it's for.

We should probably rest
Or get rid of him to prevent the cholera from spreading

You are right. We should head for town

Unfortunately, there is no "Old Yeller" option for one's wagon-mates. His condition has also downgraded from "Good" to "Fair".

But we prepared for this! Thoughts and prayers will see us through.

As far as the details go though its 1:1 votes for Rest/Continue On, at this point.

Resting is probably a bad idea. As that guy says, it's in the water.

I say rest a couple days, unless we're very near a town or trading post where we might find working medicine. I don't remember diseases being endemic to a location (no matter what that guy says) but I do remember that pushing too hard never helps.

Increased rations might help, too, it sounds like we're not hurting for food . . . yet.
