Caulk the wagon and float. We need to save our money for the grandfather clock.

+1

We'll need that money for future ferry's. Who cares if we lose a few supplies.

You can fake being able to run on water. You can't fake looking cool when you break your foot on a door and hit your head on the floor.

Caulking and floating got us across with no problem. I'm sort of surprised, the rivers in this game are notoriously unforgiving.

However, while traveling on the other side of the river, misfortune has struck our good friend Birdvig.

We have Riverwork, of course our elite skills came into use.

As well I don’t know what keep the patient active does, so we must surely do it!

Since we had even votes, a coin flip was used. We have continued onward with no treatment option selected, all Hail the Trail.

We immediately came to the Red Vermilion River, whose description is simply "Extremely Treacherous", even though it is notably smaller and shallower than the last. Now seems like a good time to try out our last gun, the rifle.

Now we're cookin' with Murrica. We were able to easily pick out 2 Rabbits, 5 Geese, and 4 Deer. Of the 596lb of game we shot, we were able to carry 194lb of it home. Natural wonder my ass, we're havin' a BBQ.

Anyway, how do we tackle this terribly treacherous river? You can ask for advice from what I assume are friendly river-folk, and they seem split between fording the river immediately and waiting for the river conditions to improve.

(Since I missed Enemy Post's vote before pressing on, we rested for 2 days on the shores of the river).

It rained while we waited, making the crossing even more treacherous.

Regardless, our prayers have seen us through with exactly no trouble. Notably, Birdvig's condition has degraded to "Fair". There seems to be little in the way of obstacles along the next leg of our route, and there are even some pleasant springs that the guidebook describes as pleasant camping sites.

Hail The God of the Trail! Will update further tomorrow.

Mini Update: We met this overly-amiable fellow, who introduced himself as Nick Tillman.
