Sabots anyone?

Sabots would be ineffective in ship to ship combat, especially in this time period. The point of an AP shell is to get past the armor and explode violently causing as much damage as possible, a Sabot would just stop at the first bit of machinery or even the coal bunkers.

Ok here is a another plan. figured some may want a more concentrated attack at center to support the army

Deployment :
all ships will be stationed around red area during the day and at dusk all ships will head to the east side of the channel(red arow).

Using what intel the army can provide on the where about of the enemy bombardment fleet the task force will try to locate the enemy ships where the 1st and 3rd corvette squadron will make a torpedo attack on any enemy ships they encounter. the 1st cruiser squadron will be supporting the corvettes engaging any cruisers that may disrupt the corvettes' torpedo attack.

Spring, 1890, Design Phase.

The army and government is quite pleased with last seasons results. The army because that annoying forward base is finally dealt with, and the government for delivering a strike against the Nemorland Navy. However, the Army considers the central islands of more importance at this stage in time, unless you believe you are capable of supporting a major invasion that will take Rocford and Steywall.

Such an invasion would require dedicated time an effort and a whole lot of support, however the Army is willing to assist with some funding if you accept and give the go ahead. If you accept, they will prepare a major invasion and land by the start of next year at earliest. All that is required and taking those cities and the island they are on would be more than worth the loss of the towns of Ingvarby, Gunvaldness, and Bergljotness. At the time of the landing, naval forces should be dedicated to defending and supporting the land forces in their initial invasion. After, the protection of supply and troops headed to the island is of the utmost importance for the operation to succeed, as well as the denial of the enemy to do the same. Naturally, such an operation is risky, and this is why the Army is asking if you believe you could support it.

Also we find it funny the Nemors are claiming the M-7. One of the boats in the rear of M-7 fell off during its departure, it must have mistaken it for the M-10 somehow and sunk. Apparently, one crew member, the one in charge of logistics, says that someone did this on purpose because the Nemor's were getting close, and put a decent amount of high explosive ammo into it to boot considering a few missing crates of that type of ammo he noticed later when going through the stocks after the battle.


Due to the ongoing war, and our great victory, our budget has grown by another 4 PP. We might get some extra funding if we keep it up.

Minnow Class Corvette: A corvette with a single three inch gun and two, two inch guns. Additionally has three surface torpedo launchers and is capable of a speed up to twenty four knots. Is fairly maneuverable, and can carry a small platoon of soldiers should need be.
Costs 2/1 PP, 3 seasons construction time.

Serpent Class Light Armored Cruiser: A Armored cruiser armed with three six inch guns, two in a forward turret, one in the back. Additionally has a secondary armament of six three inch guns, three on each side of the ship along with two submerged torpedo tubes, one on each side. Capable of a surprising nineteen knots at flank speed, and armored with three inches along the ships belt with the main turrets having a similar level of armor. Has had a central rangefinder installed in the bridge.
Costs 5/2 PP, 5 seasons construction time.

Hertzian Wave Theory

Hertz had proven the truth of Maxwell's electromagnetism with his little experiment a few years back. Sensing the potential of instant communication, we've set a not too insubstantial cash prize for anyone who contributes to Hertzian Wave Theory, especially in regards to wave propagation and detection.

While we can all say that our ships have proven themselves to be better fighting ships than the peasants ton for ton, we must grudgingly acknowledge that when it comes to speed the peasants have out classed us. The project lightning aims to close the gap if not overcome the speed advantage the peasants have enjoyed this year through two aspects. The first aspect of the project looks to do away with with the old triple expansion steam engines for steam turbines. Additionally drive system is altered to include a gear box allowing us to have more speed control with out having to reduce steam when ever we need to slow down. The second aspect looks to replace the fire-tube boilers for water-tube boilers which should allow for us to produce higher steam pressures in our boilers giving more steam power with less or smaller boilers.

Central Firing
In the recent combat, it has been noticed by fire control crews that, while the improved equipment of the new Central Rangefinding stations greatly increase the ease of aiming guns, the positioning of the Rangfinding station, high above where there is a better point of view and far removed from the noise and physical shock of the guns firing, is also very useful for maintaining targeting and analyzing the effective accuracy of a barrage. As such, the proposal has been given to allow not just for the remote transmission of aiming calculations to guns, but also to run firing control capacity between the Central Firing Station and the guns to allow for Central Fire Control along with Central Rangefinding.
