"Godfried!" Sylvianne rushed towards the stricken man, kneeling next to him and frantically searching around in her pouch for her vulnerary. "Just hold on a little longer, I can get a healer here for you."

[Haspen]

@Hobointerceptors&the rest:

"Food?" The hobo asked. "Hans can talk for food!"

@Sylvianne the Witness:

The old man put his hand on Sylvianne's arm.

"Cedric... take him back..."

"Tell him... truth..."

"And Luitgard... Luitgard....."

And then he breathed his last, his hand sliding off onto the cold, stone floor.

[Chevaleresse]

"What do you mean? What truth?" Sylvianne asked the question, knowing the man was already gone. Her motions slowed and stopped, and she sighed. The mage lifted one hand and placed it lightly over the man's head, gently closing his eyes. "I. . . I won't let you down, then. I don't know what you wanted, but I won't let you down. For Cedric." She stood up, and with one last glance towards the man, headed further into the keep to search for survivors.

: "I apologize for my hastiness your majesty, young Lukas is right, we should finish investigating the camp first."
He adjusted his cloak a little as he followed after Lukas and the rest.

[Haspen]

@Everyone?But:

"You've found Godfried yet?..." Cedric asked those gathered nearby.

"Wait, who's that dirty one?"

"Hans be innocent, blehuh!"

@Sylvianne:

Unfortunately, it seemed that nobody else was alive inside the keep. All that Sylvianne found was corpses of rebels, few in various states of dismembering.

Marietta hesitated when Orietta said anything, but Hans saying that he would talk for food irked her.

"Hans duns know anything my ass..."

She lets go of Hans and shoves him forward.

"Some guy we found looting for scraps, Cedric. If he tries anything..."

Marietta was not in the mood to get stabbed, she had experienced plenty enough of that today.

[Chevaleresse]

Sylvianne's heart continued to sink as she explored the fort. She had spoken to many of these people, befriended a few. Once again, she was glad for her mask as she turned back and exited the structure; it made it easier to look like she was handling it all. It wasn't hard to find the party, and some strange man they'd accosted - or had accosted them, she wasn't sure, but he was in hand now.
"Cedric. There's. . . there was nobody left. I found Godfried, but he passed before I could get help." Sylvianne took a deep breath to steady herself before continuing. "He said Luitgard's name, and something about taking you back somewhere."

[Haspen]

"No! No..." Cedric looked completely defeated.

"It... It can't be the end..."

Meanwhile, a certain hobo began edging away from Marietta, and the group as whole.

Markus took the time to step towards Cedric, taking a deep breath before he stepped up to say.
: "Your majesty, I don't believe that any of us would give up our chance to seek justice for this country, for your aunt, Queen Sophia, or for our fallen, as long as we still have you, your majesty, we still have hope for a better future."

Orietta gently nudges Marietta.
"Marietta, the straggler....?"

: Markus is right. They didn't leave us many options, but between giving up, getting hunted, or pushing onwards, my choice is clear.

The van den Borre scowled as she looked at the hobo, club resting on her shoulder.
"Kch. Let's break one of his legs. See if a shattered kneecap loosens his tongue."

[Haspen]

The hobo started bawling.

"Hansdoesn'tknowjustwantsfoodpleasespareHanshedidntdunanything!!"

Marietta had been so engrossed in hearing the news, even feeling somewhat sorry for Cedric, that she didn't even take notice of the hobo leaving. When Orietta nudged her, however, her sentimentality disappeared.

"HEY!"

In a second, Marietta blocked the hobo's path, putting him in a stranglehold, still grabbing his hand holding the knife.

"I don't know, that leg breaking option is sounding real good right about now, so you better hurry up and say something! And don't go 'Hans doesn't know' because you were just fucking saying that you can talk for food, so you better-"

Marietta's gaze met up at Orietta's for a moment, and she took a deep breath and loosened her hold, though still keeping it tight on the arm.

"I mean... talk and not run and maybe we'll get you some food once we find the bastards who did this. Sound good?" Marietta grit her teeth through every single word.
