This entry has more missions and weapons than any before it. On top of that, all missions support online co-op of up to 4 players, as well as local split-screen. Control the 4 classes and play with EDF soldiers all over the world.

Even more realistic battles
Armor will peel off where you shoot enemies, and their fluids will spill out onto buildings and floors, making you feel like you're truly on the EDF's battlefield.

4 EDF classes powered up like never before
As the player, take on missions with one of four classes. Finish missions to unlock new ones and advance the story. You can switch classes before missions as many times as you'd like.

So who else is going to buy this? I would like to group up for this on release since I got into 4.1 late into the game

Hah, I got 4.1 literally 2 days ago, having a blast with it so far even if the controls are a bit janky. Not sure if I'll be getting this one immediately, not sure if I'll be able to run it properly.

Bought 4.1 a few days ago, realized I already owned Insect Warfare, so I've been playing that instead.

I quite enjoyed 4.1 and thought that 5 was just going to be a console exclusive. Glad to see it's coming to PC too, now I'll be able to play it. No idea if any of my friends would be interested though.

Hopefully they've done something to make vehicles control better but I'm not getting my hopes up about that...

Is it hidden gem of sorts, that everyone gets so excited about? Only amazing thing i seen from lazily veiwing screens is single flying half-naked soldiergirl in team of fully armored males edgelords.  I, personally, didn't even heard about it until now.

The most effective way to describe EDF is to say it's the videogame equivalent of a B-movie that's so bad it's good. The game is undeniably clunky, quirky, and unpolished, but it's also a game that offers something few other games can lay claim to. Blasting 200 giant ants to bits with a precision airstrike, or getting in a giant mech and punching a godzilla wannabe in the face, or soaring through the air shooting lasers at hordes of flying alien drones is something I've never seen another game replicate, and once you've played one of the games and you get into it... you're forever into it.

In short, it's an extremely unique and weirdly endearing series, which has earned it something of a cult following. I wouldn't say it's hidden. It's just not exactly mainstream.

I often see big releases such as Nioh have bad or cryptic translations, so I wouldn't expect all that much in that regard.
Better menus and controls in general would be nice but I'm not holding my breath.
