If I mine that Galena vein, will my miners be safe from the Cave Crawler?

Yes but there has been an increasing demand, making your lignite far more worthwile.

Quote
Price for coke (refined lignite and similiar) has gone up to a total of 5☼ per coke, that means that one lignite is potentially worth 25☼

Turn 10

The Bronzebeards
Praise the Miners!
you didn't find adamantine but hey, not often that you get scared by that color. Anyhow, your miners while digging through lignite found something better (apart from mountains of it).
Apart from 10kg of lignite you find a cluster of picture jaspers.
You also get 7 Influence from your Public Claim.

Copperbacks
Praise the Miners!
The chances of this are thing but its happened for the second time now! You found a cluster of Green Zircons inside your Galena Vein, along with 10kg of Galena.
Also you mine 7kg of lignite, unfortunately the bronzebeards have already claimed the gem cluster...

The Youngbloods
You discover a Limonite vein!
You discover a Hematite vein!

Turn 11

The Bronzebeards
You mine some 4kg of Lignite
Selling the Iron bars brings you some 40☼ which you immediately invest in cutting the agate stones. Selling those 8 cut banded agate gems brings you another 80☼

Copperbacks
You manage to wring only a single lace agate from the stubborn earth.
Your miners discover a large cluster of bauxite, which in itself is uninteresting, more interesting is the massive cluster of Sapphires contained therein.
7kg of Lignite grant you 35 bars of coke and the 10kg of Galena bring you 40 bars of lead and 20 bars of silver.
Selling all these items brings you 175☼ from the Coke, 200☼ from the Silver and 80☼ from the lead for a total of 455☼. Then you realize that you have to pay for all of that...but only 85☼

The Youngbloods
1350☼. Thats the wealth you bring home to the clan. Your clan is drowning in the wealth you made off the back of the Gold Vein. Families of Migrants flock to your clan and marriages are made with the more important dynasties in the fortress.
Meanwhile you mine 7kg of Lignite.

____________________________

EVENT:
The sheer Wealth produced by Deepmire is causing steady immigration, almost everyday dwarves move into the fortress which scrambles to sate all these people (The Capacities of the Guilds has doubled!)

There is news from the First Level of Mineshaft 1, the Snakemen have apparently increased considerably in number, using the hematite to craft iron weapons and armors which allows them to more effectively hun in the mines. (Snakemen population increases)

The massive need for lignite is starting to ebb, surface logging brings in enough coke...

No more Bronzebeards you say? Well, it's time to put in the better beards!

We are The Ironbeards.

I assume we take over the Bronzebeards claims and such. If not, I'll change me orders, but if so:

Pay the fee to refine as much Lignite as possible, and sell that. The prices may have stabilised, but the clan needs some good ol' wealth to get going.

Mine the Hematite. Iron for the Ironbeards!
