Revision: Spirit Moderation

There is unanimous agreement amongst our testers that spirit spirit is undoubtedly the greatest Enabrian creation in the (regrettably patchy) recorded history of our nation. However, its practical applications beyond enabling R&D to host wild raves every other night have yet to be grasped.

It is evident that this beverage is far more potent than expected for a liquor of its strength. Preliminary tests suggest that the massive inebriation and memory loss observed thus far can be avoided simply by restricting spirit spirit intake to much lower controlled doses (as opposed to providing subjects with full bottles of the stuff and telling them to go wild). With a bit of playing around and a solid understanding of this substance’s pharmacokinetics, we should be able to reliably induce a state where the more interesting effects of the spirit are in play, but the drinker is not inebriated to the point of cognitive impairment. This will, of course, enable us to study with much greater ease the phenomena described by our initial testers.

A few of our researchers also believe that with proper conditioning and repeated exposure to spirit spirit, subjects will gradually develop the ability to control whatever odd mechanisms in the brain are influenced by the beverage, enabling them to activate the so-called "spirit sight" phenomenon at will.

As mentioned in the previous turn, the most exciting field of battle this year will be in the Arstotzkan capitol, with plenty of close-quarter fighting and siege warfare.  Arstotzka, accordingly, spent their design phase developing a high-altitude tactical bomber.

While we will have to spend another design phase to create our spirit factories, the spiritual ethanol revision brings us one step closer, and allows us to also create ethanol as a by-product to fuel our future vehicles.

So, magic and anything goes, although overpowered effects are more likely to fail, huh? Although there may be magic exclusion zones or areas where tech doesn't function right. Hmmm....

And we've already made ultrabooze.  :o

Revision: Spirit Bullets
Spirit Spirits have a powerful hallucinogenic property, and induce memory loss fairly quickly. While the halucinations can be enjoyed for recreational purposes, it defeats the point if you can't remember your fantastic night. So instead, we have turned to weaponizing it, casting needle tipped bullets with pressurized doses of SS loaded inside, with weak seals to prevent leakage that will break upon the needle piercing skin or armor. The bullets have been sized to work with either our rifles or our pistols.

By injecting the SS directly into a target, it will have a more immediate effect, and can disrupt their actions, causing them to ignore or outright disobey orders; suffer crippling fear and activate their flight or fight response, potentially turning them against their allies; and break the morale of those around them, as they sow disorder among the enemy ranks.

Spiritual Ethanol:

(Hard) 2 + 1 - 1 = 2

Perhaps we... pushed our brewmasters too hard. One of our best stills is now on fire. Worse, it's a fire that's a light blue and simply ignores all methods of fire extinguishing we throw at it. Hopefully it'll die down and we can save the equipment.

We've not even quite sure what caused this issue, but hopefully it's a sign we're onto something?

Study the Fortress

The stills are on fire. Maybe it was a bad reagent? Let's examine the grow rooms and chemical plant to better understand their operations.

Fly upwards
The relative safety of this empty shaft is mitigated by the fact that it is slowly flooding. We may as well get ahead of our enemies and study the fortress later.

Enabrians are hardly one to let failure drag them down. No, we rise high, our spirits buoyed by spirits!

And our Fortress-City rises.

And as the party ends our Fortress-City rises into a floor that seems... seemingly normal.

No. What's that? Off in the distance!

Volcasial has arrived as well!

Fueled by anger, our men rush onto the Shuttle Disks, carrying their entirely inadequate weapons, and float outwards to capture the first section of the Forest.

The Frozen Forest, as the oncoming snowstorm proves.

Brew Master's Apron

Due to the... touchy... nature of the brewery equipment, our Brewers have developed protective gear to hold ingredients while also protecting them from scales and chemical burns. Mishaps in the chemical plant have also necessitated the development of a respiratory filter mask to protect the face. The Brewers Apron is a full-body garmet with a thick canvas jumpsuit covered by two removable layers. Undergarmets are worn should the whole suit need to be removed. Pouches to hold flasks and canisters have been adapted to ensure that rifle magazines fit as well. The facemask respirator is removable, and stores in a belt pouch.

Edit: concept for the rifle design

Senapang Pattern Rifle: A 110 cm, 4 kg dark wood masterpiece. 7.7mm rounds are fed via 5-round stripper clip into the 10-round internal magazine, which can also be loaded with rounds individually. It has an adjustable rear sight with 100 meter increments. It also has a bayonet lug and comes with a bayonet. Padded for operator comfort, extremely dependable and reliable. The Senapang outclasses many rifles of our time. Costs 2 Ore and 2 Wood. (CHEAP)

Edit2:
Concept for an alchemical launcher.

Slingbow

The Slingbow is based off the ancient weapon known as the "crossbow", with a rounded and smooth track for flasks of flammable Brew to be loaded in and fired. The tension is reset via a hand crank, and an drop sight is added to the front to help with aiming at range.

“Illusory Mind Spirits”: Why yes utilizing these alcoholic spirits have delve access to a new form of technology that can be implemented, through manipulation of the “spirit crystals” we can combine it with our mental hallucinations to manipulate the physical world around us, these the “injecting” of the most that these crystals created and have been combined with special brew-making techniques, as well as the expatiating the energies with light and shadows (weaving magic, you might say), a individual can make illusions through the manipulation during these mental states, waves through the mind causes light to refract.

What this ability for the individual do, is that the new form of Illusory Spirits will not make them cause hallucinations but instead force hallucinations on others!, the individual can make a target hear any form of noise or the creation of the image of an object when the “Spiritshaper” retracts light or sound waves to create these noises, while this type of development can be implemented in distractions, ambushes, etc this also progresses into the area of manipulating people’s mind and senses to hear things they can’t hear and festering into their minds for manipulation.

“Needletail” Service Rifle: This is your standard 7.62mm battle rifle (so it has greater range and stopping power) that is provided with a 10-round magazine that can reload every so often, with the bolt allowing for semiautomatic spam-fire, iron sights, and a bayonet for them jabs. All constructed from wood and steel machinery to be effective and durable for everyday-use.

Firebottles

So we have a brew that catches fire now. Good enough. Now, let's gently boil it down to a low-density gel, and bottle it in a cylindrical flask with the catalyst added in before firing via a ball wrapped in brew-soluble coating. In addition, let's make a crossbow of sorts to fire the cylindrical flasks, with a ranging sight to help estimate drop.

Spirit Rations
The (non-flammable) Brew that gives these hallucinations is hard to control in liquid form. By further distilling the spirit and boiling off the excess moisture, we will create gummies that can be fed to testers in controlled amounts, allowing easy testing of this 'spirit realm'.

The Glimmer Farms

"To plant a seed", is the start of many things. Among those is a new way to make crystals. Crystalline growth in the brew tanks has happened before, and the Brewers have learned how to prevent rampant crystalline growth. However, by encouraging crystalline growth in a specially designed vat filled with Brew (spirit brew = Brew) and adding seed crystals from the spirit brew tanks, we aim to grow much-desired Spirit Crystals.
