As many as you want.

Use 100 harvesters and 20 BP to learn Water Extraction
Use Water Extraction on the ocean
Wait until nightime to attack the hamlet, maybe the inhabitants will be more tired
You already know how to make water extractors.
They can only be used on bodies of water.
1 turn is about a month so attacks are usually multi-day things, tho there are breakpoints for both sides making it highly unlikely that a small force will wipe out a city, in most cases.

Turn 9:
You decide to build a water extractor, to start exploiting the ocean, and 1 hive, to give room for expansion. You send 800 soldiers to attack the hamlet, you figure that this is way overkill for just a handful of people, better safe than sorry. Turns out that it was a good thing you sent a lot of soldiers, they have an army posted here. The attack was actually pretty bad. Your soldiers had a K:D ratio of about 5:1, inflicting 1114 casualties to the locals and receiving 230 casualties. Your soldiers retreated before they could finish off the enemy. Bodies coming back(cut by 50% do to retreating): 672(230 soldiers + 442 locals). You reclassify the hamlet as a fort. In other news you sent a force of 800 soldiers to scout the city to the south and found out that the earlier estimates were off, new estimates have the pop of the city at 32,842. With the new information and the recent losses you had the new swarmlings divide evenly between all the pop types.

-think of a specialised way of storing biomass

Also we should be getting 2394 new pop per turn from the breeders.

You build another water extractor to get even more biomatter from the ocean. You allow 200 biomatter to level up level 1 to 2, 151.3 biomatter used to level up 1513 level 1 soldiers to level 2. You use bodies to tier up soldiers, 16 tier 3 soldiers go to tier 4, making them twice as powerful as before, unfortunately they alone use 2.6 biomatter. 1400 soldiers are sent to attack the fort. They have much better troops there, you have a K:D ratio of 0.9:1, inflicting 1031 casualties to the locals and receiving 1239 casualties. Your soldiers retreated before either side could wipe the other, estimates show that they could have wiped out the rest of your troops. Bodies coming back(cut by 50% do to retreating): 1139(all of which are your soldiers). You allocate 3 swarmlings to breeders and the rest equally among the rest. You contemplate a better way to store biomatter. You come up with a bio-vat: provides storage for 10,000 biomatter; 25 BP. Your harvesters inform you that next turn is the last turn to get the max amount of biomatter from this area.

That was your worst battle to date, your soldiers went up against a lot of veteran troops(equivalent of level 4 soldiers).

Build a Bio vat
Use 10 UP(RP?) to get Bigger mouths for soldiers


What can Upgrade Points be used for?

What can Upgrade Points be used for?
The bio-bat was a typo its really a bio-vat.

UP is used to get upgrades, see the OP.
