The year is 2020 in an alternate timeline. Ayys are invading. Why? There are multiple possible reasons, but it could involve them wanting a resource from our planet that's way more abundant in space, them being assholes, or maybe something completely different.

Either way, you are a soldier of the XCOM project.

I want to start playing forum games. This sounds simple and amusing.

Note: I decided to look up my gun, and it looks like it holds 5 rounds, not 10. According to Wikipedia. I have as much actual innate knowledge of firearms as a poodle does of advanced physics. Requesting that the magazine be updated, but that I acquire 2x magazines to compensate.

Added. Let me write up the first mission intro.

If you're wondering what was taking too long when I took a shower, well, I think this popup told me to quit procrastinating by playing XCOM 2: War of the Chosen with a bunch of mods, and to start working on RtSMX's first update.

What happened was: I misclicked and made my Reaper shoot at a target which was low priority, and when I tried reloading a save to go back to immediately before the misclick, I crashed.

Yeah, there's a good reason why a lot of missions had time limits of some kind in XCOM 2. Sure, overwatching is important for ambushing, but I disagree with using it to turtle unless you specifically need to hold a position.

The date is 3/1/20. The council, after obtaining proof there's an alien invasion, activates the XCOM project. Immediately after, a small scout UFO descends into the atmosphere, only to be hunted down by a pair of interceptors, which shoot down the poorly armed UFO, causing it to plummet to the ground in a forest and killing some of the aliens inside.

Immediately after, a squad of XCOM operatives grab their weapons, and board the Skyranger to assault the crashed UFO. An hour or so after the crash, a squad of armed-to-the-teeth soldiers lands, and begins investigating.

You are one of said soldiers.

You exit the Skyranger via the rear ramp, and get ready to move out. The UFO is a fair distance away from you, about a hundred or so yards away from the LZ.

You see a lot of trees, some rocks that could make nice cover, and a few hills, and some green and cyan lights.

Squad Status: Normal, same as in the sheet post.

Tip: The MK21 ESR and M249 SAW Para have bipods that can prove helpful for being more accurate and doing the exact thing that lead to a lot of turn timers in XCOM 2.

Added, although you haven't boarded the skyranger as you joined after the start. You'll get to go on the second mission, though. I'd like to remind people making their sheets that the primary gun + ammo is meant to be IN FRONT of the USP .45, not behind the frag grenades in the inventory field.
