Yeah! Loving all the aspects of it, and the original series got a bit boring, to be honest.

It's quite good, and has everything a SPAMKINGDOM should have.

It's okay, wouldn't mind seeing the original series updated again though.

You decide to try some desperate measures, and sell out titles and priviledges to those willing to save the Kingdom from destruction.

The clergy seems astonished by your idea, but would be willing to donate money to the Treasury and placate the people with sermons and festivals, if you will give the clergy, their families and subordinates a tax exempt. You assume that this might mean some major losses to the taxation profits in the long run.

The nobility has heard you out and is immediately willing to donate money.
As a group, is that you form a legislative council of the most important peoples (Counts, and Dukes, if there will be any), who will be granted the ability to counter or veto your decisions if they deem them too dangerous for the stability and future of the country.
There's also Duke Circo, whose family wields considerable influence at the court and amongst merchants, and whose coffers are filled with profitable trade of luxuries and cloth between the coastal ports in the west and south. If you were to grant the Duke an autonomous territory within the Kingdom, he would support you personally.

The council of nobles and priests gathers, their eyes and ears ready to hear your judgement on their fair and profitable proposals...

As for tax exempt for the clergy...

A) No!
B) Alright, not a single coin from the clergy of Mother and Father shall be claimed as taxes from now on!

As for the divulging of monarch's power amongst his vassals...

A) No!
B) Okay, the King of Kastoria will now fall upon his nobles for support and judgement of his decrees and decisions!

As for granting House of Circo an autonomous duchy within Kastorian borders...

A) No!
B) Fine, Duke Circo's lands will be autonomous. May his name be praised by future generations for his loyalty and benevolence!

...As you ponder your options, you gaze upon the faces of the gathered. They're your loyal subjects - but in their eyes and expressions you see glee for your suffering and greed for power and priviledges.

These are vultures, if not worse. You suddenly realize that if you refuse all of their offers, they might become extremely dissatisfied, and the situation might become even more dire.

I was tempted to vote in favor of only church privilege, as it seems to address both happiness and immediate money need. After all, it wouldn't be Spamkingdom without getting into a good fight against rampant clerical power. But I think that fight goes better in the monarch's favor if we can play the two constituencies against each other … down the road Kastoria will likely face cash shortage again and the Advisory Council will see that the Church does not. As for giving up the absolute rule of the king, well, I'm secretly a bit of a Spamrepublican at heart. And Lycwl did come to power by leading a revolutionary faction, perhaps he'll do better as a persuasive leader among many than he has as a replacement tyrant.

Duke Circo is one guy. We can likely undo the power we give him in the future by marrying into his family. In the short run it could be annoying, but less so than giving the nobles Veto power.
