//We were off by one year again! XV
You send the pagan worshippers a letter of threats!
408 AEC, Late Autumn
The grotesque beast has left! It has slithered away outside the borders of Kastoria, towards the plains dividing your country from Maelia. The scouts are keeping watch on its movements just in case.

Your proclamation had an immediate effect, but not as strong one as your clergy hoped for. Many have renounced the mermaid worship, and the clerics re-baptised the converts, but rumors have it that some of the populace still keeps the salt figurines at home and does some fish bone divination when nobody's looking.
408 AEC, Winter
You rub your temples in annoyance as the courtiers argue out loud.
It all begun when the recent loss of your Queen was brought up at the table. Things have quickly escalated:
"The Mother will surely make a special dispensation for our King. He should remarry, to strengthen the dynasty and produce more children."
"Nay! To remarry would be a grave offense to the Mother! Our King has two children in line to the throne, and that is aplenty."
"Count Balazera, you preach of grave offenses to the gods, yet you yourself married your second wife last year!"
"That's a different thing! My first died young and I had no children to inherit my lands!"
"What you two are forgetting is that remarrying so fast would cause the soul of Queen Xmantha to come haunt us for this impiety!"
The courtiers argue, but as the discussion loses its strength, more and more of your courtiers glance at you. It is obvious that they're awaiting a proclamation from you on the matter of remarrying.
A) "I need more children to ensure prosperity and security of my house, and my country. I shall remarry one day!"
B) "Death of my beloved still occupies my mind and my heart. I can't answer such an important question so soon."
C) "As the vows stated, I shall remain faithful to my wife even after her passing. Nobody but Xmantha shall be called my wife!"
