Rumors arrive that a large decisive battle has been fought between Maellia and Gellaine, and that Yann II of Maellia lost it terribly bad.

You welcome your sister into your study she sits down in front of you.

"Dear brother, I come to ask for a favor."

"What would that be?"

"My son, Eruan, has recently been infatuated with a certain noble girl named Bakara. She is the daughter of one of your nobles, Count Sobiero."

"The father is not enthused about their romance, I guess?"

"Exactly." Your sister claps her hands together. "He has threatened to drive his daughter far from the capital rather than see her marry Eruan, on the grounds that he is a heathen and a negative influence upon her young mind."

I wish there were an option to talk with Eruan, using this opening to persuade him that he might need to adopt at least some Kastorian ways if he hopes to please Kastorian noble houses.

We can intervene one father to another, because it is in our own family's interest to see our nephew married well. But if we command with our "Fearsome" reputation, then even though Sobiero may not risk disobedience we will not have changed his heart and his sourness will fester.

Best we inform Sobiero of the opprotunity he is denying his daughter. Gellaine just got hit hard. They are likely to give us an offer for aid that we cannot refuse. Eruan could very well end up as the King or Grand Duke of a defeated Maellia if that war goes well for us.

Assuming the typo is in the name and not the country, Gellaine may be about to offer us an even better deal than before, potentially allowing us to expand our control over Maellia. Eruan would, of course, be the person best suited to ruling over these people, as king or grand duke, as he follows their customs. Therefore, that Count could be in a powerful position in the future. It's a win win situation for everyone.

Except for the Maellian king, of ocurse.

Besides, family is family but we don't want to piss of yet another one of our nobles.
