They ran right into Telleo's soldiers, amongst whom there are spearmen too! Minor casualties occur before the bulk of the army joins the melee along with rebel peasants.

That's exactly when the quality of the men is worth more than their quantity! Kastorian soldiers and veterans hack away at the peasants, whose lines simply collapse and those at the back rout after just a while of fighting!

The numbers are evened rather fast, and before you know it, your men are pressing into the deeper ranks of Telleo's formations! His peasant rabble is either dead or routed by now!

It's a gruesome slaughter of rebels, and none of those that throw down their weapons are spared! One of the sons of the nobles who joined you gleefully rides up to you, carrying in his left arm the bloodied, hacked-off head of Count Telleo!
You praise the boy's bravery and promise to reward him and his father greatly after the rebellion's truly over.
The war council gathers as the auxilliaries and healers count up bodies and tend to the wounded. There's four thousand corpses on the field, of which less than a thousand belongs to those fighting under your banner.
