A fresh start in the ages past... good or bad?

Yeah! Loving all the aspects of it, and the original series got a bit boring, to be honest.
It's quite good, and has everything a SPAMKINGDOM should have.
It's okay, wouldn't mind seeing the original series updated again though.

L: Anreu

Let us name him after the leader of Xane-Peon, as a sort of conciliatory gesture to ease any hurt feelings over the betrothal/power sharing debacle, which has just been rendered moot.
Oh, I actually really like this. Much better than my goofy suggestion. +1

You decide to name him Matin, a rather common name for royal males in the region.

417 AEC, Mid-Autumn

You receive the long-awaited reply from King Anreu II of Xane-Peon!

In the letter, he reassures you that Arina will be treated with highest honors as the wife of Marti and the peoples of Kastoria will receive the greatest priviledges available, down to a taxation exempts on few things.

Your court is enraged by the reply - its blatant rejection of your suggestion, after all.

There's lots of shouting, because your nobles are angery that there's no better way to solve this than to break law, either religious or royal.

A) "What else to do but annul the marriage? Arina will have another husband one day!"
B) "I would rather see Kastoria a subject than a law-breaker!"
C) "Little Marti can have Arina, but one of my other children will rule Kastoria instead!"
D) Definitely send for the Spymaster this time.

C - I believe we follow agnatic/male-preference primogeniture succession, rather than absolute primogeniture. Thus it is perfectly fine for Arina to no longer be the heir to the throne

A - We can survive a breaking of the betrothal. The priests approved of us remarking for the good of the kingdom, they can survive us doing this for the good of the kingdom as well.

The update looks pretty clear to me that Arina is the heir, nothing changed when a son was born. Our first two heirs were our first two born, I don't think we ought to assume male preference rules without clearer evidence. (After all the complaining and law changing in previous Spamkingdoms, Haspen may have started this one with better chances for the daughters, knowing that exactly a situation like this might then arise.) Furthermore Arina is our remaining child by our first wife, so she may have precedence on that account – even though the second marriage was encouraged by the court and eventually the priests, it was nevertheless presented as a special exception to traditional values.

Probably. A little clarification though Haspen?

In this run, it's absolute primogeniture, because such is Father's and Mother's wish for the eldest to inherit (and is why youngest get least). It's why the nobles are making such a fuss aboot it. Putting youngest over elder is also a reason for the pious ones to make a fuss, btw.
