Turn 2 Revision

Proposal: Iktomi “Angrylegs” System
Difficulty: Very Easy
Result: (2+1)+2=5, Below Average

The Iktomi lacked punch, so punch is exactly what we gave it. Each of the pistons in the scout walker's legs meant to facilitate climbing have been replaced by tungsten pistons with a nanite-based heating element within each one. The elements themselves are capable of heating the legs to 1700 degrees Celsius. The legs can be heated individually, but it takes a couple minutes to get to temperature. The penetrative force of the legs are somewhat reduced as a very healthy medium had to be achieved so as to not damage the heating elements within the legs, but it is still capable of punching into solid surfaces enough to maintain it's climbing abilities.

We didn't armor it up or anything else, really. Just worked the legs. It helps, but the increase in production cost is not fully offset by the slightly increased demand for a light vehicle meant to go quite literally toe-to-toe with heavier armor. At least it was already pretty cheap and popular. We should really be cautious about further work on the Iktomi lest we decrease the number we deploy.

Infil set up with the Oceania, and the Ruby and Kaczynski to help fuck armor. Medic given a Wellington since the medic cheapening from the facility covers that cost for us, letting us have free grenade medics wheeeeee

I think we’re set up to really just absolutely shit on the slow-and-supported approach of the TR, so I want to take a crack at warpgating them, and as much as I really really want that outfit duel, it would probably be smart to use the outfit on the offense.

MSB-1 "Coyote"

The Mobile Spawn Bike "Coyote" is a vehicle designed to give Nextgen Consortium soldiers a mobile spawn point to use, a reaction to a serious and unmet need, to Terrestrial Reserve relative sustainability, and to that tragic 0.002% stock drop. It is, in its base form, a motorcycle. It is not a terribly impressive motorcycle, being that it's totally unarmed and unarmored and thus doesn't have much combat merit on its own, even though it can at least move at a quick speed. But this isn't really the point -- the motorcycle form was intentionally pared back by one of the saner founders of the company, in fact, in order to make the "Coyote"'s other form more viable.

The "Coyote" is notable because it is actually a spawn pad built into the form of a motorcycle. When the driver of the motorbike has found somewhere to park the Coyote, he can begin the process of transforming it. This process takes several seconds and requires some manual input on the part of the driver to turn some of the pieces and facilitate the transformation, but the end result is a flat disk which is capable of routing spawns from the warpgate -- some have even called it a "router". While this disk is stationary and fragile, with transforming it back also taking several seconds, adding to the pile of sacrifices in the Coyote's design, all of these sacrifices have been made to keep the Coyote at a fairly small size, one that can in in fact fit into buildings, allowing savvy drivers to get the Coyote into all sorts of bizarre places to create unexpected and difficult-to-reach spawn points.

This vehicle does NOT use artillery trackers for the Volley-0. While this vehicle is designed with the TR in mind, and while the VS would still likely be able to detect it when the spawning functionality comes up, it would still be useful to force them to fight into a room full of guys to deal with it, rather than just shooting the motorcycles on the street.

SWT-3 "Iktomi" Mk. II
The Iktomi has had a troubled history, but with a bit more work, we'll finally get it functioning as a fearsome weapon system that can actually threaten our enemies.
The first improvement we've made is scrapping that stupid, heavy spike gun, replacing it with an Oceania derived autocannon which is more or less an Oceania without the nanitification and, due to being strapped to a way bigger reactor, it can manage a much higher rate of fire than the standalone Oceania, allowing it to paste infantry, slag light vics, and pound bunkers to dust with a good burst. plus it can temporarily overclock itself, giving it a much greater RoF temporarily, at the cost of having to shutdown for a short time. We've also looked into finally adding that uparmor package we planned to do earlier. we have an additional thing to look into if possible; strapping a plasma missile to a turreted stick thing, it can't be reloaded in the field or anything. It's more for solving sudden, immediate problems. If necessary, we will scrap the "Angrylegs" modification, depending on if we can get enough investors to keep it cheap.

Turn 3 Design Phase

Proposal: MSB-1 "Coyote"
Difficulty: Theoretical Very Hard
Result: (6+4)-2=8, Average

The Coyote is certainly a nifty vehicle. It's a chunky looking chopper-style motorcycle with a significant amount of bulk at the rear. It offers no protection to the rider, but can manage speeds of around 130 kilometers per hour. The most interesting part of the motorcycle is the fact that if can be reconfigured into a Spawn Relay once it's parked. A Spawn Relay provides an additional Spawn Point for Nextgen troops in the combat area. Parts of the bike's casing need to be removed to facilitate the otherwise automatic transformation, so the process can take a few moments depending on the driver and their situation.

Their only issue is that they absolutely eat power. We've worked around trying to reconfigure the engine to provide enough juice without causing other problems with the addition of the Generator Sidecar. This sidecar is, unlike the bike, somewhat protected against small arms. It also, if the name isn't clear, houses a generator that allows the Spawn Relay to run indefinitely. The GenCar can be quickly detached via lever and has three wheels of it's own to allow it to be wheeled behind the bike in situations where that would be required (like a doorway). The cable in the arm of the GenCar can be extended to plug into the Spawn Relay, so the GenCar does not need to be directly attached to the bike to function.

The vehicle notably lacks a wireless relay for the V-0 Missile Network.

The MSB-1 "Coyote" is in high demand, but is quite costly to produce, making it (EXPENSIVE). While we're not likely to make it cheaper without severely limiting it's capabilities, it is possible that further improvements could see demand rise at a rate that would negate a rise in expense level.

IT IS NOW THE REVISION PHASE!

The suits have decided to expand operations even further, and have dedicated a significant amount of facilities to the Contract Wars! This means that from here on out, every turn will have 2 REVISIONS, allowing more flexibility in our progress as we move forward.

CI2 "Strix" Cloaked Interceptor
The Hawk while marvelously actually functional given the extreme ambition behind it, it isn't actually that effective at anything we tried to have it do. The Strix is a retooling of the Hawk to more properly fulfill its role.
The first modification was replacing the engines with smaller, more efficient models. This reduces the max uncloaked speed to 720 Km/h (leaving the cloaked speed untouched) while also greatly reducing the thermal signature and load on the powerplant. Next we scrapped the plasma cannon and its related subsystems, replacing it with extra missile pylons, since they're much less taxing on the powerplant. Speaking of the powerplant, we've done some work on it; now it should run notably less hot with the same if not greater power output.
Now we've made all those sacrifices for one purpose and one purpose only: Full Spectrum Cloaking. This gives it the perfect invisibility we tried for with the Hawk. To go with this we of course had to remove the Volley-0 targeting aids, but the end result of a truly undetectable Interceptor is not something to dismiss.

Nextgen Destruction Set
The Nextgen Destruction Set, which absolutely does not infringe upon any copyright at all, is an explosive device made for the purpose of helping our troops move through those nasty Terrestrial Reserve fortifications, instead of horrifically fucking dying repeatedly against them. Although it has a similar rectangular brick shape as many plastic explosives, the Nextgen Destruction Set is not plastic explosives. Instead, it contains a small particle accelerator, similar to the core of the Australia -- albeit smaller, as the charge needs to be portable. The Nextgen Destruction Set uses this particle accelerator as an explosive device: the accelerator is built as if the effects of a Clyde-II module and pair of Kaczynski modules were applied to it, and is built to produce a large amount of energy despite being smaller than the Australia by simply violently overloading itself with energy beyond all safety measures when used, burning out the accelerator but creating a violent directional burst of energy. The end that fires out the energy is coated with the adhesive material from the tetherball, so it can be stuck to walls and fortifications -- or, in desperate situations, other objects.

The Nextgen Destruction Set is usable by Infiltrators and Engineers.
