Surprised by Momo's reaction, she looks back into his eyes for a while.

Then, she begins to chuckle.

"Goddamnit, Momo, you're so fucking cringe."

Her thumb lightly glides across the back of the hand Momo is holding her with.

"Then again... It's not that I dislike that side of yours..."

"For now, let's stay alive and solve this divine conspiracy. We'll figure out everything afterwards."
"After all, now money's not your only motivation for your virgin ass."

She slowly let go of his hand.

"Well, I might still need some people to....help me sort these things out. Might need someone of your mighty strength to slap down anyone who gets in my way, right?"
"Still, to think the end of all this is so close..."

"Hmph. Do not presume your own worthiness." Despite her words and the way she put her nose up, it was hard to miss the expression of gratitude that flickered across her face for the barest moment.

"Eh, who cares for death flags, Serena can revive us, zero issues."

Yliss takes a step back.

"Anyway, since this is the last battle... I might have too many ideas for the time after, but during that battle, I have one clear goal."

She draws out Orochi and takes a few focused swings with it as her expression suddenly hardened.

"Today... is my final chance to catch up to Ito. She may have the power of a god and anime on her side, but I'll be her equal with pure unadultered determination."

"Catch up? No, dude. Be better."

Keith looked out over the bow.

"...The first time Freya and I met, she was a goddess and I was practically a kid, and completely clueless besides. The second time, she was a traitor and I was a hero, and she found out the hard way she has no power over me. The third time, she ducked me. This fourth time, I'm going to beat it into her that divinity is no excuse for being a worthless sack of shit."

Yliss puts Orochi away.

"It's really about pride more than anything else. Always felt like I'm in Ito's shadow. In a way, it made me get serious about becoming a better swordsman, but still. I want her to see me and respect how far I've come."
"You should be able to understand that, Keith. It's like being so close to and yet so far away from a champion's belt while knowing you're in a new stable at the end of the season."

Serena looks towards Yliss.

"Heh, and I just talked earlier about how I wanna aim to become Asuna's equal without her cheats. Very considerate."

Yliss glanced to Keith, then to Momo, notably longer so for the latter.

Speaking of a certain waifu-shaped Revivian swordswoman...

There was something that Asuna had put off for a very long time now. Some of the time, it had been procrastination for decent reasons - she had been exploring her future, and what she wanted to do with herself. But in a flash (maybe even a lightning flash), they were past even Kaisei, and Asuna found that there was no more time left to procrastinate. If she wanted to talk about the things she wanted to talk about... it had to be now, didn't it?

It felt a little strange to crack open a piece of herself that she had kept hidden away this whole time and had even been in conflict with herself, even if she had been making so much progress on it and her self-image through these adventures. Still, probably she'd understand the best.

Asuna tapped the party's other myrmidon on the shoulder.
:"Hey, Yliss, got a moment?"

As her shoulder got tapped, Yliss turns around, surprised that the source of that was Asuna herself.

"Eh? Err, sure, of course. What's the deal?"

:"You mind if we speak in private for a few minutes? I mean, it's an airship, so I guess as close to private as it can get, but I have something I want to talk about that... well, it sounds like you might understand it the best."

What... She's not angry, so she probably wants to talk to me as an equal. Wow... I pledged that I would catch up to her and it's actually happening in a way?
