The young man shrugged as he began to retrieve small handfuls of herbal powder from a pouch within his pack.
: "I make my living by trapping, I happened on their camp while I was out looking for good locations. Just a fire pit, some bedrolls and a few of them milling about. I thought it might have been a host of amateur hunters, until they started after me with proper weapons."

Niels landed in a cloud of dust kicked up by his wyvern's wings.
"Another day, another victory, eh? That's a good few who won't oppose the Reich again."
...And hopefully the statue had been forgotten about. He looked around at the scene of their victory, and regarded the rather sick-looking governor's daughter for a moment.
"..."
"Hey, miss Peritz. "

The captain turned to his soldiers.

"Niels, Siegfried, Brunhilde, check the corpses for any letters or items of importance. Now..." And back to Jann.

"Have you seen any markings? Coats of arms, flags perhaps? Do you remember where their encampment was? I would like to inspect it."

The trapper sighs as he applies a dose of herbs to his surface wounds.
: "Didn't see anything that could identify them. Still remember where the camp is, though."
Stowing the pouch of herbs away, he moves not towards the direction he was running from, but instead to the statue of the Empress, beginning to glance at it from multiple angles.

: "Save your healing staff, I'll manage."

"Save it. You're still bleeding, and I can make it work slower without effecting the power anyways." Simona said, before indeed bopping the man with the staff, and then going around to do the same for anyone else still injured.

Shaelynn turned her head to look at Niels, still allowing the tree to support her weight. Her eyes shut tight after only another moment. "Eisenmarke. What is it? Be brief." Her voice was strained, and her skin was pale.

"Give a second, Captain, not like they're going to run away."
He pulled a small canteen from the inside of his coat and offered it.
"First battle's always rough, eh? Sip on this. Slowly."
"It'll settle your stomach. Get some of the shake out your legs."

Shaelynn extended a shaky hand and grasped the canteen. "You have my gratitude." Carefully, slowly, Shaelynn removed the cap, releasing a fragrant scent of medicinal herbs. She put the opening to her quivering lips, and took a short sip. Whatever it was, it was extremely herbaceous, and a little sweet. Not unpleasant. She lowered the canteen momentarily, still wobbling. "...We faced a great number of foes. We are lucky that no one of us was permanently injured."

Siegfried nodded, then bent to search the corpses. He started with those nearest him, but eventually moved towards the one that seemed to be the leader - surely he would be the one to have documents on him?

Niels waved a dismissive hand.
"Don't worry about it. Figured you wouldn't be used to blood and guts."
The irrepressible drachenreiter grinned.
"We had the advantage of terrain and a healer. You can have as many men as you'd like, they'll lose to a few with better tactics."
"Always do wonder why none of you footsloggers ever seem to wear a helmet, though."

Shaelynn took another sip. "They had a healer as well. That we were happened upon by that woodsman first, rather than these assassins, was quite fortuitous." The question of armor came up, and Shaelynn sighed. "I can not speak for anyone else, but my constitution is somewhat lacking. I simply can not wear armor for more than a few hours without collapsing."

The young man grunted in irritation as Simona closed the last cuts on his body.
: "Urgh... fine, your loss."
His gaze returned to the statue of the Empress, brow creased further as he glances around the statue, eyes darting across it for any other signs of structural weakness.
: "...Suppose it was falling apart already, but this won't do."

"I'm not exactly armoured up like ol' ugly here, either-" He patted the snout of his wyvern, and it gave a grunting hiss of contentment, "-But there's a world of armour between in your skivvies and clanking about like Siegs."
"Don't have too much of that, by the way. It's half alcohol by volume, and I don't imagine you're much of a binge drinker."

Shaelynn had been about to take another sip before the warning, and decided to cap and return it instead. "Generally speaking, I much prefer tea to wine, yes." Shae turned her gaze toward Siegfried, and her stomach turned again. She looked back toward Niels. "Eisenmarke, if I may... How well do you know that man?"

Niels took a sip for himself, then the canteen disappeared back inside Niels' longcoat.
"Siegfried? I don't, really. We only met a short while back, when we were both assigned to this mission."
"He's seemed like a pretty decent guy so far, your own history with him notwithstanding."
"I'm guessing you never had much to do with him before the engagement?"
