I made those numbers up from my personal expierence. For example, BLUDGEON damage doesnt hurt internal organs but PIERCING does, so piercing costs more. Web absolutely owns everything while dragonfire does less so, web costs more. Etc Etc.

We could actually use that system as it is (with a few tweeks). To make sure the BODY is fair, well, we can judge that ourselves.

Maybe we'll iron it out a bit and use it next time, everybody's already got their uber-megabeasts planned and posted so I don't want to start throwing new rules in right now.

I'm sorry, I had forgotten. Wait a moment, I must go back and read your post...

[MODVALUE:number] multiplies the value of the items made from this creature by number.

[GENPOWER:number] had something to do with magic. Now it has no function.

[GRASSTRAMPLE:number] determines how much grass is trampled when a creature walks.

[ATTACK:priority:BYTYPE:BYTOKEN:"verb":"conjugate verb":minimum damage:maximum damage:damage type]
Priority - This can be either MAIN or SECOND. The creature will use an attack with the priority SECOND only if it cannot use an attack with MAIN priority.
BYTYPE, BYTOKEN - These determine which body part is used for the attack. BYTOKEN uses the exact ID of a body part. BYTYPE accepts a type of body part. The valid values of BYTYPE are (some are untested):

APERTURE
BREATHE
CIRCULATION
DIGIT
FLIER
GRASP
GUTS
HEAD
HEAR
JOINT
LIMB
LOWERBODY
MOUTH
NERVOUS
SMELL
STANCE
THOUGHT
UPPERBODY

"verb":"conjugate verb" - These determine what message you get when it uses it's attack. "punch":"punches" would give messages like this: "You punch the zombie in the leg." and "The drunk punches the zombie", depending on whether your attacking or observing. (Not the best explaination, I know.)

minimum damage:maximum damage - These determine the amount of damage the creature does. It will randomly do damage in the range of minimum damage to maximum damage.

damage type - This determines the type of damage done. I can be any of the following:
BLUDGEON
PIERCE - punctures the body and does damage to internal organs
SLASH - causes more bleeding and can remove limbs, but does less damage
GORE - causes pain and bleeding
BURN - unrelated to fire and temperature, this causes a great deal of pain
HEAT - foes struck down by fire attacks are set on fire
COLD - much like heat, only with no fire

Adding [ATTACKFLAG_CANLATCH] at the end of an attack definition will give a chance of latching on to the enemy when this attack is used.

[ATTACKFLAG_WITH] allows the use of weapons with the attack (if the creature has one).

Personally, I don't really think the retributive justice attack of mine is all that unbalanced.  Since it's a secondary attack, I'll only use it if I lose my arms somehow, and the [SEVERONBREAK] tag can cause some nasty effects.

But I'd still like to see some tests.  Maybe a pre-competition warmup?  We could test all the creatures and iron out the problems.

And be entertained...

Hrmmm... we could mod in an immobile punching bag creature for us to rough up.  :)

That's a wonderful idea!  Create some sort of benchmark creature that we could all attack and see the differences!

Or, just have a punching bag creature that we could rough up.  That's really all the reason we need.

I'll give elves the [PET] tag, make them really prolific, add them to the dwarf entity tag, and bring them along as pets. We'll throw 'em into the arena and watch the slaughter. BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!

Seems awesome, thanks Fenrir.

I can't wait until the community fortress captures all these megabeasts.

...and I can't wait to get owned by a flying slice of toast.

I think we've got just about everyone's megabeast. I must create Dwarfaholic's creature and I think the pigeon guy needs to finish his.
