Bio:
Theobald Ainsworth the Third was born into a beastkin family from Begnin's capital who was quite happy with sticking to their—quite comfortable—lot in life. Followers of Freya, they were accomplished healers, masseuses, therapists and health advocates. It turns out solidly scheduled, good sleep combined with regular meals—and some cuddling on the side if available—made for excellent results.
His family was already quite well-known but his parents, Theobald and Millie, were held in an even higher regard by the adventurer community due to their charitable work at their clinic, healing, feeding and housing down-on-their luck sods who might as well have decided to do something stupid like taking a suicidal quest with an unreasonably high reward offered by someone with no way of fulfilling their side of the deal. They grew to be loved enough to have their own volunteer guards in case anyone decided to get aggressive after finding out they weren’t that kind of masseuse. Go get the succubi!
Theobald was quite loved growing up, both by his parents and siblings and by the adventurers who squished his cheekies or touched his fluffy tail. His tendency to become a floppy purring mess upon being picked up gave him the Ragdoll nickname, which he didn’t mind (at the time). He was taught the sacred arts of massage to heal the body, sleeping to heal the mind and cuddling to heal the soul, and he might’ve grown to become a perfect successor to his parents like his siblings were shaping up to be.
However, as
Ragdoll Theo got older and started to sleep (a little) less and pay more attention to the adventurers who visited his clinic and read Revivian novels full of heroes, he started to feel unhappy about his life. Why did adventurers have such shiny things? Why couldn’t he be one as well and become a hero? Theo eventually left home, and while his parents were worried about him ending up limply flopping about a battlefield and tried to convince him to stay, they figured out it was a phase and he’d return after figuring things out.
Theobald decided to hide his identity to avoid having the adventurers who appreciated his family help him, to mixed results. He did manage to purchase some good adventuring gear and, with few clues as to how to start adventuring and become a fearsome hero, decided it was a good idea to accept the goddess' mission after arriving at Seedsprout Town because it seemed a grand adventure with grand rewards. Hopefully there is a cart involved; trips make him so sleepy…
