Flintlock firing mechanism???
since it has a brass casing and is a breech loader it presumably has a firing pin.

God that's advanced for the first real weapon of a post-apocalyptic civilization. Not even sure it still qualifies as a musket.

Seems to use difficult to manufacture custom ammunition too, rather than a common easily to scavenge type or an easy to craft type.

it's based on this rifle, and the ammo for it is reasonably common today, so we should be fine for a while.

We already made it, no point in arguing now. Just pick attack destinations and plan ahead.

Great Lakes, cause we don't want to deal with Florida men and we have access to fresh water there.

As someone who once lived in Florida, and once lived in the Great Lakes region, this is a very difficult choice.

Combat Phase turn 1

The Bostonian army advances through the Great Lakes, engaging the dead along the way, but the muskets don’t work efficiencly enough . At a settlement, they meet a gang loosely ruling the wastes calling themselves the Vipers Agree to meet with a high ranking officer. Moments after the meeting happens, an ambush is sprung, but the muskets find new use, being much more reliable in combat.

Boston Advances into the Great Lakes!

What, exactly is inefficient about the musket? Need to know so we know what to improve about it.

Alright. How long to the "turns" last? I wanna know if we have enough time to perform a sneak attack of some kind.

"Teacup" Rowboat

The Ocean is currently an untapped resource, as are the lakes and rivers that flow through many past towns. It doesn't look like the Dead can efficiently, meaning having a simple platform to shoot them from would be a huge bonus. We also would have easy access to a mobility-increasing vehicle without the need for fuel or any real resource investment beyond lumber.

The Teacup is a simple rowboat, made from fresh lumber, with enough room to seat 10. It is designed to be capable of both river and near-shoar oceanic travel, with a flat hull. Its propelled, as you would assume from the name, by two rowers using oars. The top deck is designed to have enough room to move around, with wooden supports on the side allowing for low-cover. A trapdoor in the rear allows access to the "cubbey hole" below the deck, suitable for storing cargo (either recovered from the old cities or supplies brought by the expedition teams).

This design should allow us to secure both the ocean-shore and riversides without issue, in addition to outmaneuvering our landlocked enemies in the Great Lakes region. Given enough time, we could send men to unexpected locations by the waterways, allowing us to attack vulnerable targets.  Fluff wise, it would allow for off-shore fishing and relatively save expeditions into unknown territory.
