But once you sink to a certain level of Humanity, that sort of thing doesn't matter.
Particularly if you have a *cause*.  It won't help you keep humanity, in fact it will distract you from that.

I'm pretty sure Jack is a Gangrel. IIRC in the tutorial section he kills some shovel heads with Gangel powers.

Coulda sworn he used that spirit wolf attack thing in the tutorial, which I believe is a high level Animalism discipline. Also he looks like a biker that someone pulled out of a muddy ditch, which fits my internal description of Gangrels.

Ah well. He'll always be a Gangrel in my book.

That spirit wolf attack in was by the Sheriff (that big dude with the weird trenchcoat), who is of uncertain clan.

Tvtropes and the WoD Fandom wiki suggest the Sheriff is from an African offshoot of the Tzimisce clan known as the Nagloper. Evidence suggesting this is the Sheriff's use of Animalism, and his appearance probably being the result of using Vicissitude on himself. In addition, his final boss form, Chiropteran Marauder, is a very advanced Vicissitude ability.

Seeing some other examples of smaller clans would be neat. There was Pisha, that vampire who ate flesh in the abandoned hospital, the gargoyle in the theater and the werewolf. I'd also like to see other things from the WoD like changlings and mages.

I don't think there was that many examples of Gangrels in the game. I remember Beckett and the Southland Slasher. Apparently Skelter is also a Gangrel.

Well, the werewolves were more crossover from other WoD products, and I think it was an awesome way to take the PC down a peg or two, even if you do kill it - because for what has by that point become an undead powerhouse, you still had to run, survive and trick an unstoppable killing machine that you can’t take on the normal way.

Yeah the werewolf bit was great - really changed stuff up in a way games fail to do. Sure, you sometimes get bits in games where you're without powers/weapons etc. but then you sort of quickly overcome it all and go back to being super powerful.

I'm hoping they manage to include a few similar things in vtm2 - I feel that the whole point of VtM is that whilst you're powerful, you're not some sort of undead superhero and there are a lot scarier things out there than you. I imagine with it being (hopefully) more story based they'll be happier to do that than in other games where it's all about the player powertrip.

That was an excellently jarring point in the story... especially when Nines starts losing his shit, and the player (who may not know better) is wondering what the big deal is like "I'm a badass vampire."

Then if you try and fight it normally it just kicks your teeth in and wears you like a hat. In comparison to a lot of the other things in WOD vampires (at least the vast majority) are still pretty close to human on the power scale. Caine may have been cheating for you, but being able to tear a werewolf apart bare handed would've been a bit much.

I remember that thing. It knocked me into a rock where it couldn't get to me, so I just waited it out and bolted to the railcar. I was playing as a kind of weak, poorly optimized Malkavian so I'm not sure it could have gone down a better way.

I did like that moment, as frustrating as I remember it being. I think you had to run around the observatory dodging the werewolf charging through walls while waiting for the train to arrive. Like LaCroix dominating you early on, I agree it's important to have these moments to remind the player they're not the biggest fish around.
