Whilst I don't think the melee combat looks amazing I think a lot of it is down to the skill of the player making it look way worse than it is - they're constantly leaping past them and looking the wrong way which makes the combat movement look worse than it is.

Wait, did they put in Witcher combat?

I was always kind of disappointed with the clubs in BL1. They clearly wanted to do more with them but there was like one thing going on in each of them, and due to the technological limitations it always looked like a Monday night in them, to me.

Clearly the strange dancing is part of the plot, which has to do with the Dancing Plague of Prague that was caused by Malkavians.

I've been playing Vampyr as of late, I was sold on the concept when I read that the main character was a young specialist in blood transfusion who is turned into a vampire to fight an ancient evil... TBH I think I enjoy the setting more than VTM

Careful. Keep up with that line of thinking and we'll end up with John Wick, then we'll all be fucked.

I bounced off Vampyr hard because:

A. Utterly boring protagonist (Character creation choices in an rpg? Never! You are and always will be a white dude with a beard but no personality. Never mind that the setting is World War I where literally any ethnicity would make sense, being involved in the conflict and refugee crisis. Similarly, as would playing a woman/nurse, but no, it is frowny the beard or bust for Vampyr. He frowns at things—watch him frown at things!)

B. Self-serious tone mismatched with the actual game—this is all so tragic, all life is precious, this realism, oh wait here are twelve infected people and three vampire hunters (who are on you literally before you’ve even drunk blood for the first time—apparently the got the memo about your vampirism before you did)—now beat all of them to death with your bare hands!

Also this vampire hunter who is human and pretty much can’t help but die (having spawned in the part of the game world where there is no talking allowed)—you can’t feed from him, not while there are starving orphans or suffering patients or irreplaceable nurses relying on your care and humanity around.

I’d consider it playable if they completely removed the combat sections and all minor vampires-zombies from the game, made it so it is just you, regular human beings, the plague and the evil you bring.
