Extending the generic "Expel" option to all friendly units would allow the player to remove unwanted and troublesome guests. As a bonus, the fortress guard could "escort" (drag) expelled units to the map edge if they fail to leave in a timely manner.

A forcible "expel" function should readily extend to prisoners, in particular animal people that ambled into your traps.

Dealing with prisoners is one of the pre-mythgen development items. It's uncertain if work will continue on those once Villains finally arrives (or if it'll be included in Villains) but it's definitely planned (interrogate, release, ransom, prisoner swap, etc).

I'm aware dealing with prisoners is planned. I just pointed out that the suggestion ought to be easily extended to include one case of dealing with prisoners, not necessarily connected to the handling of the other cases.
