That thread was amazing.

I like pulling shenanigans like that as an unarmored adventure-peasant sometimes. I'll get thrashed within an inch of my life by some night troll or whatever, beat it by the skin of my teeth, crawl to safety, and sleep 'til the full moon. Rinse and repeat.

Rumors have gone around of thrashing and snarling noises coming from the walls of the hospital.



I also went over the militia roster again to fill in the holes left by our fallen and to ensure that their equipment setups were in line with their abilities and there weren't any labor conflicts that might cause them to drop their weapons.

258-08-18

Dobar, the Broke Spine Barkeep, went stark raving mad. The recent carnage did her in.



Cleanup of the western breach has been glacial, but is moving along steadily.

258-09-11

Another strange mood.



He wanted a lot of raw green glass.



An interesting piece indeed, and now another legendary Glassmaker.


He and one other dwarf that I can't remember have managed to completely recover from their stresses. A pretty good note to end the year on.

I dunno if that'd be worth it. They miss out on important destressors what with not being able to force feed them or needing sleep. I mean we could make a werebuffalo militia team now, but that wouldn't be worth it either because of the whole "KILL EVERYONE THAT ISN'T WEREFALLOS" thing.

A tavern keeper will serve drinks to the vampires and that will keep them boozed up. The lack of food doesn't have any hard negatives. All that leaves is protecting migrants until they're turned. I'm not sure about how to handle werebeasts, but you'd want a separate room for each one at least to keep them from randomly fighting each other to the death. Imic came out on top there and is all by himself now if anyone wants to play with that.

Human caravan was the only merchant to get in and the werebuffalo+ettin attack scared them off before I could get it all out. A good majority of the food and drink was already at the depot when the Werebuffalo popped up so I managed to export all that. The lack of migrants definitely slowed things down toward the end of the year, but most of what I'd set out to accomplish was already done: fleshed out social spaces in the tavern and surrounding temples, and the indoor waterfall forest spa. This is the first succession turn I'd ever done so it was definitely a nice shift to have to figure out an already-running fort and spend time parsing all the narrative bits and bobs that normally get glossed over in pursuit of mad science.

I remember earlier it being pointed out that the "topside stronghold" only had 60-some odd people in it, so it's entirely possible that any available reserves have already been tapped and died here on the farm.

Well, I’m aparrantly a Werebuffalo Miner now. Possibly future recruit with conditional healing factor used in the most awful and crippling fights against things which cause vast quantities of pain and death. Honestly, not the worst job to have around here.

I want to know the answer, but this is dead enough that I guess this is a necro. Ah well, the fort had a gouda run.
