How to modify personality traits with DFHack?

after creating a nice library and wanting to have some scholars, I realized that my fort with 110 dwarves does not have a single dwarf who values knowledge.. How can I modify dwarf to value knowledge? The only suggestion I've found was in a thread with using gui/gm-editor but that interface doesn't seem to have an option to change or add traits.

Status-> current soul -> personality -> Values

Or modify the civ parameters so that they value knowledge. ([VALUE:KNOWLEDGE=50+] or something, but it requires world regen)
Or use the brainwash command

Type "gui/gm-editor" in the DFHack console window when the creature of interest is selected, without the quotes and with an <ENTER> afterwards, of course. Thus, the slash is part of the script name (as it's situated in a sub directory to the hack/scripts one).
