Absolutely.

Likely the first positive identification of extraterrestrial forces occurred on 22nd October 1962, when an unidentified flying object almost caused nuclear war in a violation of US airspace, making a mockery of experimental military technology in the progress. Since then, confirmed and unconfirmed sightings have ramped up, culminating on the 3rd May 1991 with the destruction of two Japanese F-15J Interceptors by UFOs and the confirmed presence of at least fourteen extraterrestrial vessels in orbit.

On 5th May, representatives from Earth's leading powers came together for a secret conference in Geneva to combat this threat and SPAM-Com was born.
