As you arrive following the trail of essence, you find nothing but an endless void and a small girl of Golden Light.
Hmm.. "Seems like some interesting beings have arrived. I, Solei, welcome you all to what is left of my Universe."
I- Introduction
Everyone, hello and welcome to this God Game! In a little twist, I the GM will rarely speak in OOC. Ideally, this little speech should be the only time I do. For the remainder of the game, I will be assuming the role of Solei, your host and universe.
As you probably guessed, most of this is from Nakéen, who I got permission from. Though there are a few other little changes to the rules. Not many though.
II- Setting
"A time ago, I was created. The Flux existed for the Titans to use to build. And they did. However, in their Arrogance, they destroyed all that the others wrought, eventually ending up destroying everything else, including each other. And barely a drop of flux left over."
"Honestly, if you hadn't actually answered, I probably would have died in an eternity or two."The Golden Figure of Light shrugs.
"Anyway, since you are here to hopefully create stuff, why don't I go over some rules I spent my time waiting thinking up, as well as an overview for those of you who have not yet lived enough to know some of this. As well as all the old relics around I fixed up."----The Fountain of Light----
Hehe, "This old thing was originally created to gather the flux into essence. It's long since broken down by now, and is dry as a well with no water."
"Assuming things happen, it should fill up over time, and a God who drinks from it will gain great power. For a single Cycle or two at least. I'll have to give you permission first though."
----The Weaver----
"Ah, I haven't introduced you yet, have I? This is The Weaver, She's my Bestest Friend in the Whole Universe. Eh.. You can't see her?"
----The Archives of History----
"Well, even if you can't, she still has this. There are a lot of tapestries in here, all of different periods. Or at, least, there should be soon enough. She'll probably go ahead and weave a few to tell of your own exploits in this universe."
----The Well of Prophecies.----
"Should any of you try to test your luck predicting events, just yell your prophecy into the well. If you're lucky, Destiny Coins will come out of it after a while. No idea where they come from, but my friend seems to like them."
"Ah, I should probably warn you guys not to go wandering to far off into the darkness. There's Nothing out there."
Non-Playable Classes:
Primordial Ones:
"Creators of universes, they are the only ones able to generate new universes. One of them was my own Parent. They are extremely rare, and the subject of legends among other divine beings. They are the supreme powers that rule the multiverse."
Titanic Ones:
"Titans... They are supposedly great world creators, wielders of primeval powers vastly surpassing the power of lesser Divine beings. Titanic Ones are born when a universe is created by a Primordial One, rising from the big bang. Well, the Titans that were born with me were Creators, but most of them just destroyed everything the others built, so here we are..."
Playable Classes:
Great Ones:
"It is written: 'Varied and powerful, greater ones are all the powerful beings born under the Law of the Primordial Ones. Some are fathered by Titanic Ones and Great Ones, while some are just created naturally by a universe. They are able to shape reality, and each and every one of them wield vastly different powers. They interact with the mortal plane from the divine plane. Mortals like to call them Gods.'
Gods in short?"
+ Can sire demigods
+ Can choose a specialization: Creation or Destruction
+ Stronger in the Divine Plane
= Realm in the Divine Plane
- Weaker in the Other Plane
Other Ones:
"These guys are interesting, here is what is written: 'Great Ones who conceptually rejected the Law of the Primordial Ones before they were even created by a universe. By doing so, they alienated themselves from the multiverse, and became an incomprehensible force. Their very presence and powers tend to warp the normal reality of a world, but being near a world under the Law is painful to them. As such, they generally interact from afar, specifically from the Other Plane. Mortals like to call them Eldritch Abominations.'
Personally I don't get what's all the big deal with rejecting the Law. I mean, I feel perfectly fine."
+ Innate eldritchness and reality warping
+ Stronger in the Other Plane
+ Realm in the Other Plane
= One specialization: Alteration
- Unable to sire demigods (they are infertile in short)
- Weaker in the Mortal Plane
Ascended Ones:
"It is written: 'Legendary Mortals who transcended their mortality, and attained power equal to that of a Great One. As pure blooded mortals, they have no problem interacting with the mortal world, but have difficulties interacting with the divine.'
That's pretty rare in my opinion."
+ Get a bonus to [Manual Labor]
+ Stronger in the Mortal Plane
+ Can move their Realm to the Mortal Plane
= Can sire mortals
= Realm in the Divine Plane
- Weaker in the Other Plane
- No specialization
------Planes------
The Mortal Plane: The plane where the world exists. The playground of all that lives above. From the mortal plane, divine realms appear as special constellations. To enter the Mortal Plane, a divine being must Incarnate.
"To simplify things, Incarnating is free there. I will supply the required energy myself. And as I'm pretty tolerant, Other Ones don't suffer from being incarnated."
The Divine Plane: The plane where most divine beings dwell, from whence they interact with the Mortal Plane. Each resident of the Divine Plane got a realm of its own, which is their home. Mortal life cannot persist very long in the Divine Plane without the help of a divine being.
"That's where most gods reside. It's rather hard to kill a god in the Divine Plane."
The Other Plane: A maze-like plane home to the Other Ones, so complex that the Other Ones themselves have great difficulty navigating in it. They each have a realm of their own there, and finding one without the help of its respective owner is a close to impossible task.
"That's where Other Ones reside. Truly a mysterious place, and very pretty. Good luck finding anything you don't know the location of in the Other Plane though..."
------Movement------
"You may only move between Planes once per Cycle. And as transplanar deplacement is rather delicate, you won't be able to do anything else for the cycle once you enter. Takes a good bit of uninterrupted time to do so as well."
III. Rules and Mechanics
"Well, now for a few Rules. It's mainly to prevent you lot from accidentally harming me by going overboard. Let's start with the Golden Rule."I can change rules on the fly! I will try not to, as it would be a headache.
"The most important rule! Everything you do, say or ask generate what I call Strain. It's because you Divine Beings are so powerful your very presence tend to warp everything, which is not really enjoyable for me. Try to keep the Strain low, or space and time could start slowing, or even breaking."
------Strain------
Low: "Really good! I'm in top form."
Moderate: "Still manageable, though you may start noticing some odd things."
High: "If you got to that point, that's entirely on you. You will have already noticed the space-time anomalies, and tears in reality will probably start appearing. I won't be held responsible for any accident that will occur."
Max: "That's the worse that could happen. Ever heard of hiatus? This word should make you shudder and understand the meaning of this level of Strain."
------Ema's Mood------
Happy!
Cheerful/Normal
Mixed Feelings/Potentially Annoyed
Angry/Bad Mood
Unstable
I̖̹̼͚͢ņ̥̪͎̣͘s҉̴͔̼̮̖͍̪a̰̮̣ṉ̝͖͖͡e̡҉͡
"Ahem. Don't mind the last bit. Don't know where that blot came from."
------Hierarchy------
"One of the most important rules. You will all be ranked in order of important according to the cosmic order, so me. And as I'm a very biased person, don't except fairness at all times! I will try to be though, but well, my own perception may differ with yours.
As! Such!
You will not be equal. You will be ranked by order of importance: Primordial Gods, Major Gods and Minor Gods. Naturally, your standing can and will change!"
Primordial God:
-Get 1 Quintessence and 2 Greater Essences per turn
-Can have 4 active Prophecies at a time
Major God:
-Get 1 Greater Essence and 1 Essence per turn
-Can have 2 active Prophecies at a time
Minor God:
-Get 1 Essence and 1 Lesser Essence per turn
-Can have 1 active Prophecy at a time
------Death------
"Gods can die. Watch your back, and surround yourself well."
"Granted, the same was true of Titans."
"I mentioned some weird words in the section above. You have guessed it already, but Essence and Destiny Coins are what you would call resources. There is one thing I must stress out: you can't accumulate Essence. If you get more than you should have through sharing, I will take back the excess at the end of a Cycle. You can have as many Destiny Coins as you want though!"
------Sharing Essence-------
"You can share Essence with each other, there is no rule against this. A reminder though: any excess Essence will be returned to me at the end of a Cycle (turn)."
-------Destiny Coins-------
"The Weaver loves these! No idea what she does with all these coins though, I will leave that to your imagination."
> Destiny Coins are used to interact with the Weaver. That way you can:
-Alter an Event that happened
-Create a True Prophecy: make it so an Event will happen no matter what.
-------Essence-------
"The purest form of divine power! Aside from normal Essence, there are two other types of Essences: Greater and Lesser. The better the stronger, of course. Some stuff can only be done with quality Essence, so think well."
-------Quintessence-------
"You won't find stronger Essence here, Quintessence is on a whole other level. Handle it with care, some very crazy stuff can be done with it!"
-------Conversion Rate-------
From top to bottom:
1 Quintessence to 2 Greater Essences
1 Greater Essence to 2 Essences
1 Essence to 3 Lesser Essences
From bottom to top:
5 Essences to 1 Quintessence
3 Essences to 1 Greater Essence
3 Lesser Essences to 1 Essence
"I don't really know why, but the Weaver doesn't seem to like you. She asked me to tell you that it will take 1 Destiny Coin to meet with her as a gesture of goodwill. Just throw it back into the well if you want to speak with her.."
Rules:
-Destiny Coins can only be used once per turn.
-Prophecies can not be erased for free.
-Every 5th Cycle, the Well forgets anything told to it. Bit strange, all told.
------Destiny Coins uses and costs-------
1) Erase one of your Prophecies (1DC)
2) Target an entity of the World to:
-Guarantee a negative/positive outcome during the Carver turn
> The more precise the statement, the better the potential outcome
-Increase the odds of rolling better combat rolls as long as they are not facing a God
Tier 0: 1DC
Tier 1: 2DC
Tier 2: 3DC
Tier 3: 5DC
Tier 4: 7DC
3) Write a True Prophecy, an event that will happen no matter what.
> True Prophecies cannot be modified
> A True Prophecy cannot conflict with an existing True Prophecy
> Only entities of the World can be included in prophecies (Ema's Status), as such, Gods cannot be included in a True Prophecy.
Guideline for pricing: In general, a True Prophecy should cost twice what would that Prophecy reward if it were to fulfill.
------General Guidelines for Rewards Calculation------
You can't lose Destiny Coins from a "negative reward".
Actors:
"The tier of the non Gods involved in the Prophecy. Is considered an actor any Mortal or Creature, Artifacts and Laws are not considered Actors unless directly specified in the prophecy."
Main Actors and Other Actors Tiers difference:
Tier Difference +1: 1DC
Tier Difference +2: 3DC
Tier Difference +3: 5DC
Tier Difference +4 or more: 10DC
Tier Difference -1: -2DC
Tier Difference -2: -4DC
Tier Difference -3: -6DC
Tier Difference -4 or less: -12DC
Example:
Gods Involvement:
The involvement of the Gods was direct: -5-1DC
The involvement of the Gods was indirect: +1-2DC
The involvement of the Gods was minimal: +3-5 DC
No Gods were involved at all: +6-10DC
Perceived Difficulty:
"At the time of writing, how likely it is for that Prophecy to occur."
Very Likely: +0DC
Likely: +1-2DC
Unlikely: +3-5 DC
Impossible: +6-10 DC
"If you are unsure of the cost of a Prophecy, just speak with The Weaver, though if you're willing to wait a Cycle, I can speak with her on your behalf. Typically, the more a prophecy has details, the less likely it is to happen naturally and the bigger its implications are, the costlier the prophecy will become."
Manual Labor
"You know how Essence is your power source? Well, it's not like you are completely helpless without it. You can roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty to do some minor stuff."
>Any action requiring 1 Lesser Essence can be made for free at the cost of a die being rolled to check the success of the action.
>Manual Labor can only be done when you are in the Mortal Plane.
Upgrading Artifacts and Beings:
-For a permanent trait, 1 Essence of lesser tier than the one used to create the being.
-For an upgrade to a higher Tier, as much Essence as needed for the being's value to reach the desired tier's value.

A System is a set of Greater Laws that only other Systems can oppose. Oh, and if two Laws of the same class are in opposition, they will act like oil and water: areas they affect will randomly have one or the other in effect. Do note that Divine beings are above Systems!"

Current Gods in UniverseName: Acter NobodNobodNo- *ahem*. Acter Nobody.
Class: Ascended One. While the Great and Other Ones can change on occasion, that is not exactly an option for myself.
Appearance: Acter’s fundamental appearance is of the barest and most basic sketch of a person, although wearing a lab coat and a smooth, white mask with glowing eye slits, and he holds an ornate book in his hands. However, he is also perpetually subject to visual glitches and errors, akin to the graphics on a crashing computer.
Realm Style: Acter’s Realm appears to be a city, drawing facets of its appearance from the most advanced civilizations in existence in the world but otherwise mundane in its fundamental appearance. However, numerous buildings look half-drawn, or seem to have had parts erased without anything around them being affected, making the location look damaged, with only divine magic keeping it functional.
Spheres: Novelty, Protection, and the Arts. Why yes, I am trying something new.
Name: Zelthen, the Shining One, Cleansing Order, Holy Light, End of Evil, He Who Radiates, He Who Outshines the Brightest Gold, He Whose Followers Can't Stop Giving Titles
Class: Other One
Appearance: Zelthen manifests as a perfectly symmetrical humanoid made of glowing, radiant light. He is clad in a suit of battered, yet immaculately forged and maintained plate mail, and wields a white-flaming sword and blindingly-blazing shield with impossible skill, each movement calculated to perfection.
Realm Style (Optional): Zelthen's realm isn't a physical place, so much as it is an ever-expanding chamber of stagnant light, slowly pulsing in tune to a thousand thousand tongues uttering sacred hymns and prayers over and over again. All who die at his worshiper's hands come here, their souls are wiped clean to remove everything that made them who they once were, and they become one with The Light, enraptured in a state of eternal peace, bliss, and contentment. Zelthen believes reality as the Primordial Ones intended is fundamentally flawed, and he seeks to spread his faith until the last of the wicked are slain, and all things are one with The Light.
Spheres: Light, Order, Purity.
