Characters all have the following stats and skills, and one of the classes. All stat and skill start at d4 unless the class says otherwise. Characters begin with 5 points that they can spend on stats and skills. Each point allows a stat to be raised by one die level, for example from d4 to d6, from d6 to d8 and so on, with a max of d12. Choose your class, stats and skills and then fill out the character sheet below to create the character.
Stats
Strength: Lifting stuff, carrying stuff, wielding big ass weapons.
Dexterity: Balance, coordination, not falling off stuff.
Speed: Outrunning and reacting in time not to die.
Endurance: Sustaining action and staving off things like sickness.
Will: Concentration, staving off fear, insanity, etc
Knowledge: Knowing things. Roll to know things.
Fate: How things generally work out for you. Low fate means things will probably go bad more often.
Skills
Melee: Includes fists and any standard melee weapon. Doesn’t include Occult, and the like.
Guns: Pistols, SMGs, Plasma cannons, foam guns, Drill rifles, basically any tube or tube like object that propels hurtful things out of it. Doesn’t cover anything too weird.
Explosives: Bombs, grenades, demolition charges, etc. Also covers things like Bazookas, grenade launchers, etc.
Implants: For using implanted devices. Some implants, such as guns or blades, are covered by their respective skills, while this skill tends to handle implants that don’t fall under other skills. Bionic vision, motion tracking, auto healing, etc.
Mechanics: Covers building, repair, modification, and similar actions.
Technology: Covers using technology and scientific gear.
Medical: Covers basically anything involved fixing or modifying a person.
Occult: Covers the use of occult items and tech.
Speech: Covers the use of your words to convince someone of a thing.
Life and Attack
Two stats which aren't listed above are "Life" and "Attack", both start at d2. These are not rolled and a number taken, rather the dice themselves are used. When hit, the player rolls their life die vs the attacker’s attack die. If the life die is higher, the attack is ineffective or misses. If lower, it deals damage. The greater the difference, the more the damage dealt. Life goes up with armor, attack with weapons. You cannot stack weapons or armor or anything like that.
Difference damage breakdown (Estimated)
1: minor
2: moderate
3: major
4: Fatal
5: Giblets
Because RTD is used, 3s, 4’s and Max’s can add or subtract from the dice difference depending on outcome. Life rolls also generally gain negative modifiers for significant injuries
Class
Security The standard OMNITECH security guard is reasonably well armed, sort of well armored, decently paid, and highly unlikely to reach retirement. There are many dangerous things in the OMNITECH world and the noble security guard is expected (and contractually obligated) to place themselves between these hazards and the fragile scientists and workers they watch over.
Gun, Melee: d6
OMNITECH Riot suit (d6 Life)
A set of all gray body armor notable for its heavy chest and back plates, spherical pauldrons, articulated gauntlets and face obscuring helmet. Has “SECURITY” stenciled across the front and a big OMNITECH eye logo stamped on the helmet.
OMNITECH Generic Security Rifle (d6 ranged Attack) and 3 magazines (d6 use die)
One of the “Generic” brand of OMNITECH weapons which are ubiquitous in OMNITECH installations. It is an unassuming gray brick of a gun that most resembles a P90 as designed by someone with an intense passion for straight lines and 90 degree angles. It is a bullpup design with a large magazine slotted into a spot on the top of the weapon. Uses standard UEC 7.5mmx50mm steel-carbide rounds. The word “RIFLE” has been stenciled along one side of the weapon.
OMNITECH Generic Security Baton (d4 melee attack)
One of the “Generic” brand of OMNITECH weapons which are ubiquitous in OMNITECH installations. A non-collapsible metal tonfa with a square shaped striking surface to allow for both flat and edged blows. The solid metal construction is further enhanced with embedded weights to make the weapon both balanced and capable of more powerful strikes. Has the word “BATON” stenciled on one side and “SECURITY” on the other.
OMNITECH electrical behavior modification implant
A standard “contractual obligation enforcing” implant given to all Security personnel. Allows supervisors to inflict “Electrical Guidance” to the security agent if they are, in the supervisor’s opinion, acting incorrectly.
OMNITECH Omni-light
A consumer brand flashlight produced by OMNITECH. Painted gray and labeled “FLASHLIGHT” to fit in with the generic brand of everything else.
Combat Engineer Normal engineers solve problems like “This toaster isn’t working” or “We need this electric motor to run 5% more efficiently.” Combat engineers (attempt) to solve problems like “The automated foundry is about to melt down and detonate” or “If we don’t figure out which button to push this section of lab is going to be cross-dimensionally transported into the realm of nightmares.” They are effectively identical to a normal engineer with the addition of a gun, a worse working environment, and higher insurance premiums.
Dex, mechanics: d6
OMNITECH Red Jumpsuit
The standard OMNITECH jumpsuit. Covers everything but the head, hands, and feet. Stain resistant, waterproof, breathable, light, and overall comfortable as everyday wear. Offers no protection against anything more dangerous than a spilled cup of coffee. Has the employee’s name stenciled on the back like a sports jersey. This one is red and has a smaller “ENGINEER” stenciled across the right side of the chest, just under the collar bone.
OMNITECH Generic Personal Sidearm (d4 ranged attack) x3 Magazines (d4 use die)
One of the “Generic” brand of OMNITECH weapons which are ubiquitous in OMNITECH installations. The Generic Personal Sidearm is a handgun as drawn by a 9 year old; A gray rectangle with a gray rectangle grip and a trigger that looks more like a light switch with a trigger guard that looks like an allen wrench. It is uncomfortable, unappealing, and very clearly designed by the lowest bidder, but can effectively put .45 slugs into targets.
OMNITECH Tool kit (3 charges. Expend one to gain advantage on a repair or modify roll)
A red metal box with chrome clasps holding it shut. Contains a variety of simple tools for handling a variety of simple problems. Has “MAINTENANCE” stenciled in white along the bottom.
Box of 5 high visibility flares
Military Surplus flares. Come in a box with the United Earth Coalition logo stamped on it. Work equally well in atmosphere, space, or water and burn for up to 30 minutes with an alternating Red-white pattern.
Hazardous Materials Reclamation Crew Reclamation crews are generally called in for problems that are less hostile and more just innately fatal. Metal fluorine fires, high radiation leaks, poison gas, memetic hazards, level 4 pathogens and the like. Their isolation suits and foam guns are well suited for the task but generally don’t hold up on things that are actively seeking to render them metabolically compromised.
End, Guns: d6
OMNITECH Isolation Suit (Protection from many environmental dangers)
The OMNITECH Isolation Suit resembles a more advanced, rubberized version of the standard OMNITECH Jumpsuit; It covers the whole body now with built in boots and gloves, along with a helmet that resembles something between a fishbowl space helmet and a gasmask. The suit includes a powerful rebreather and filtration system, which lets the wearer survive in hazardous atmospheres nearly indefinitely so long as there is at least a small amount of oxygen. The suit can function in vacuum and hypoxic environments for short periods of time but isn’t designed around such things. Internal shielding provides some protection vs temperature and radiation, though it is not invulnerable. Has the user’s name Stenciled on the back and HMRC stenciled on the front in smaller letters.
OMNITECH Foam Gun (d4 attack. Does no damage. If successful, target is immobilized. Multiple guns used in concert stack, ie three people using foam guns at once would be 3d4. Some targets immune.) Foam tank, d8 use die.
The OMNITECH foam gun began life as a fire extinguisher, eventually being souped up into a sort of anti-flamethrower. Basically a sprayer attached to a large pressurized tank of chemicals, the gun fires a foam that is highly sticky, expansive, and hardens quickly. Designed to douse fires, control spills and leaks, and to contain dangerous substances. Painted high visibility Yellow and Red with a stenciled black “HMRC” on the tank.
OMNITECH Sealing Tool (D4 use die)
A modified welding torch with a built in gas tank. Has an attached nozzle that focuses the flame to either side and directs the metal down into a center trough of sorts. Designed specifically for sealing metal bulkhead doors
OMNITECH Environmental Scanner
The OMNITECH environmental scanner is an all purpose environmental hazard identification suite. Roughly the size of a PDA, it can analyze dozens of environmental hazards including radiation levels, temperature, pathogen load in air or fluid samples, gravity, toxins, oxygen levels, and many more. Usually only functions with mundane dangers.
Emergency Technician Combat Engineers handle the nitty gritty of machines and systems but Techs handle the other stuff. Chemistry, hacking, piloting, any sort of mechanical of scientific work that doesn’t involve a wrench, duct tape, or some preternatural gunk. Think of them as Practical Scientists who go out and do the field work while the guys in labcoats sip their brandy and ineffectually flirt with their secretaries.
Know, Tech: d6
OMNITECH White Jumpsuit
The standard OMNITECH jumpsuit. Covers everything but the head, hands, and feet. Stain resistant, waterproof, breathable, light, and overall comfortable as everyday wear. Offers no protection against anything more dangerous than a spilled cup of coffee. Has the employee’s name stenciled on the back like a sports jersey. This one is white and has a smaller “TECHNICIAN” stenciled across the right side of the chest, just under the collar bone.
OMNITECH Override Fob (Allows activation of most vehicles)
A small black plastic device shaped like a fat teardrop. It has one button marked “UNLOCK” and another on the other side labeled “ACTIVATE”. Allows technicians to automatically enter and use most standard OMNITECH vehicles, though not all.
OMNITECH Personal Computing Cube and Universal adapter
The OMNITECH PCC is a high powered, very compact, computing device with projected hologram keyboard and displays. Useful in many applications from diagnostic work to playing solitaire. Comes equipped with a universal wired adapter to allow connection with any standard OMNITECH ports.
Combat Medic If it seems odd that someone with a highly employable medical degree would risk their lives attempting to give CPR to the soupy remains of a former teammate, then you should stop and remember that OMNITECH is willing to let anyone who passes their entrance exam become a combat medic. Including unlicensed, disgraced, drunken, felonious, and otherwise unmarketable individuals who have nowhere else to ply their blood soaked trade. The benefits package is pretty good too.
Med, will: d6
OMNITECH Green Jumpsuit
The standard OMNITECH jumpsuit. Covers everything but the head, hands, and feet. Stain resistant, waterproof, breathable, light, and overall comfortable as everyday wear. Offers no protection against anything more dangerous than a spilled cup of coffee. Has the employee’s name stenciled on the back like a sports jersey. This one is green and has a smaller “MEDIC” stenciled across the right side of the chest, just under the collar bone.
OMNITECH Medical Kit (3 charges. Expend one to gain advantage on a Medical roll)
A small white box filled with a variety of simple remedies and basic medical equipment. Useful in the application of aid to injured employees. Using it on non-employees violates the warranty agreement.
OMNITECH Stimulant (Raises life by one die level till next injury) X 3
An innocuous looking syringe of what appears to be saline. Contains a high end stimulant that can enhances the user's innate capacities for a time. A large warning sticker on the side reads "DO NOT DOUBLE DOSE".
Cultist Though technically classified as “Occult Materials and Information management officers”, everyone just calls these black suited weirdos Cultists. Occult in this case refers to hidden, mysterious, preternatural, classified, unknown, or otherwise weird objects, information, and situations. They are brought in to deal with things that other people would have no idea how to handle. Chances are that they also don’t know how to handle them a lot of the time, but they make a convincing show of hiding that fact.
Occult, Fate : d6
OMNITECH Black Jumpsuit
The standard OMNITECH jumpsuit. Covers everything but the head, hands, and feet. Stain resistant, waterproof, breathable, light, and overall comfortable as everyday wear. Offers no protection against anything more dangerous than a spilled cup of coffee. Has the employee’s name stenciled on the back like a sports jersey. This one is Black and has a smaller “OCCULT” stenciled across the right side of the chest, just under the collar bone.
OMNITECH Universal Containment Pod x 5
OMNITECH Containment pods resemble a clear tube held in between two large metal ends with long rods forming a cage and reinforcing structure around the tube. One of the metal ends has an iris design to allow it to open and allow a sample in before clamping shut. Though the tubes look to be glass they are a multilayer reinforced acrylic that is remarkably strong and non-reactive.
OMNITECH Null-Rod
The Null-rod is a collapsible rod made of the same non-reactive acrylic as the inner lining of the containment pods. Used by Cultists for the investigative prodding and poking of things that look dangerous.
Sanitation Officer The sanitation crew is not a glamorous lot. Bedecked in squeaking rubber jumpsuits and carrying heavy personal incinerators, they are charged mostly with tidying up after the work of the other Security team members. They play the part of unofficial morticians much of the time, reducing unpaid interns, former doctors, and former teammates into easy to dispose of ash cubes which will be left carefully stacked up near the doorways of cleaned rooms. The wipe up the blood, goo, and various nonhazardous (Outside of potential slip and fall hazards) left behind after the HMRC are done with the more fatal work. They are also notorious smart asses who stand back, leaning on their automops and shouting sarcastic encouragement at their friends and future slip hazards.
Fate: D8
OMNITECH Rubberized Jumpsuit
The rubberized jumpsuit is effectively identical to that worn by the HMRC but lacking its sophisticated breathing apparatus. Its a puke green color that is universally reviled and is for some reason far squeakier than the HMRC suit, complete with boots that squeal and squeak and whine constantly. SANITATION is written across the chest in big letters and the Officer's name on the back.
OMNITECH Incinerator
A backpack portable, high temperature, thermonuclear incinerator. Burns up almost any organic material and many inorganic ones, depositing the resulting tightly compressed ash blocks on the ground like smoldering rabbit droppings. Has both a large hatch for loading in bulky waste and a vacuum hose for sucking up small debris. Can also be set to spray flame, though doing so is technically against regulations and highly dangerous. Has "SANITATION" stenciled on one side of the main body.
OMNITECH Arc Scraper
A sort of laser squeegee, a metal handle that splits into two wide set prongs, between which a high energy arc of electricity flows. Used to burn up and reduce to ash stubborn waste clinging to metal. The Rubber jumpsuit of the Sanitation Tech protects them against possible arcing, but teammates should make sure to stand clear of anything metal that is being cleaned with the scraper, lest they become something else that must be cleaned up. Has at least 8 warning stickers on it.
OMNITECH Automop
A marvel of cleaning technology, the OMNITECH automop is one of OMNIHOME line's flagship products. It is essentially a circular scrubbing head affixed to a handle, which rotates and scrubs automatically, dispensing soap and water from an internal reservoir as needed. The Automop cleans with precision engineered efficiency and ease, leaving sparkling floors and a fresh pine scent behind it. So efficient are they that many have argued that Sanitation Officers could be replaced by nothing but a fleet of Automop drones. Those suggesting this tend to end up in an ash cube and as such the suggestion is never taken too seriously.
Public Relations Representative Although technically not part of the security team, the ubiquitous Public Relations corps are almost always close behind. Where the Sanitation Officers work to clean up any physical evidence of experimental mishaps, the PR corps work to clean up any unfortunate rumors or misgivings among members of the public or the staff. Whether it is cataloging the dead for termination paperwork, obliterating the memory of a traumatized worker, or getting a large group of people to sign away their legal right to pursue a class action lawsuit, the PR corps are there.
Will, Speech; D6
Executive Jumpsuit
The Executive jumpsuit is, in construction, completely identical to any other standard OMNITECH jumpsuit. The only difference between this and the others is that instead of a solid color, this jumpsuit has been printed with an image such that it looks (Sort of) like the wearer is wearing an expensive 3 piece business suit. Unlike the other suits, it has no names or designations printed on it and comes with a pair of oddly disconcerting black gloves and shoes that lack any distinctive footprint impressions.
OMNITECH Gauss Minicannon (d4 ranged attack) x3 magazines (use die 4) (Silent)
Despite the name, the Gauss Minicannon is nothing but a magnetically driven pistol. Its no stronger than the standard "Generic" brand pistol, far more expensive, and requires ferromagnetic rounds. Its only positive point, aside from being a mini Gauss cannon and thus a great conversation starter, is that it is almost totally silent. Its subsonic and uses no propellant so the only sound it makes is a slight puff and then, usually, the muffled thud of a whistle blower hitting the ground.
OMNITECH Memory Eradicator
The Memory Eradicator is a portable version of the much touted OMNITECH Instant Criminal Rehabilitation Helmet and works the same way. Through the directed use of electrical current, sections of the brain are stimulated and memories are destroyed. Unlike the Rehabilitation helmet, the Memory eradicator -which is only about the size and shape of your average stun gun- has far less sophistication in terms of its specificity. It has only three settings for memory erasure: 1 day, 3 days, and Complete. It also has a worrying failure rate and a not insignificant chance of causing a long list of side effects including seizures, mania, brain damage, permanent personality alterations, and death. As such, OMNITECH has made sure to place a small yellow danger sticker on it.
OMNITECH Contract Notebook
The OMNITECH contract notebook is a personal computer roughly the size of a large book which contains only a single program: The OMNITECH Omnilaywer suite. The notebook monitors conversations and situations through its microphone and then analyzes the correct contract required. It then automatically fills in the names of the parties involved and prints the contract, ready for signing. Nondisclosure contracts, waivers of rights, premortem organ donation cars, and so forth are all covered by the suite.
