what is the general perspective on scourges? are they usefull? just as OP as whips? does anyone use them for anything else then roleplay purposes?

Adv mode perspectives are also welcome, although secondary.

Scourges are the edged weapon counterpart of whips, basically. They're worse against armored foes, but better against unarmored foes. I still prefer a good war hammer or battle axe over some weird human weapons any day of the week, though.

Oh Scourge728...  :D :D What a lovely coincidence  :P

The main problem i have with whips is that they just inflict unrealisticly deep damage. i mean, they Should hurt and rip opens skin, fat, even muscle. but cutting through armor and bones? i dont know... Are scourges just as unrealistic to there real life counterpart?

It's been a very long time since I've seen one in game, but my recollection is that they were just as broken.  Or close enough, anyway.  Both have extreme velocity multipliers that make even their small contact areas penetrate almost anything.  It's similar to the combat mechanics where you can (or used to be able to, anyway) throw a cloak at someone so hard it gets embedded in their lung: the game's surface area calculation for the impact just does not handle some things correctly.
