Irrigation Patterns
This revision of the Rune of Power - Mud modifies a part of the exterior of the rune in an attempt to cause the gathered water to be played in almost irrigation-like patterns that allow for a far larger dismayed of mud created,, as excess water isn’t simply dumped into a single central area to pool.

Most of the drawbacks to the mud rune are fine to me but 3-10 meters in diameter is pretty fuckin’ bad and we should deal with this at some point. Doesn’t necessarily have to be this turn since it’ll be a couple of turns til we hit the project completion, but it is something we should fix.

Projected Kinetic Veil
Noting the many issues with our current barrier our mages tried and hopefully succeed in fixing one. Noting the counter acting the force of a bullet with raw mana was to say the least incredibly wasteful our mages altered the spell to instead absorbing and holding the energy. The end results means that barrier(now re-titled Projected Kinetic Veil in accordance with new naming guidelines) is able to stop a decent size hail of gunfire. Regrettably the crude nature of both barrier and the modification means the mana drain is still quite high and keeping the veil up for more then a few seconds under-fire requires an unreasonable amount of mana. It is however quite adept at buying our mages time to dive for cover.

I figure we should revise barrier at least fill a useful niche since if the current plan goes through our mages with be without a new piece of kit for awhile.

Revision Phase, Turn 3
Rune of water control:

By identifying the elements of the rune of mud that attract water, we can create a rune that is reluant on the caster to control the behavior, and expel water ftom an area into the air or surrounding dirt. This can help maintain trench hygiene and avoid trench foot.


Revision: Rune of Power - Water Control [Normal] (3)

By altering a few key elements of the drawing, it's possible to reverse the effects of the Rune of Power - Mud.  Most of the key details are the same, with the exception that water is slowly coaxed away from the area.  While this will likely do little to stop people from shooting at us or kill them in return, the possibility of applying this rune in trenches or other muddy areas is reasoned to be enough motivation to develop it.

Andres I, uh, I don’t think we have the authority to arrest people lol
but maybe what we could do to split the difference is send a courteous letter talking about how naturally within the political web we lie in, as a noble must surely be able to appreciate, we can’t afford to go about forming relationships with important figures too quickly, then we offer to show him a design we already have thoroughly used out on the battlefield and see what he has to say, hopefully tipping us off as to if he’s Abbraccian or not

I suggest the following plan. It gives equal support to both assaults, using the synergy of Recon/Sky-Eye in the North and gives our new Unit of mages some much needed experience at the same time.

This gives unit 4 less EXP but considering that we’ve got 3 competent units we can cover the roles that need competent mages just fine for a while. But we need Barrier for our Front-Line with how anemic the loadout is, especially if they start winging those flechetted around, and we ought to be seeing how Front-Line works.

I feel like recapturing the mountain city could use the artillery support on both flanks, but I don't want to overdedicate forces so I'm leaving them both with Sky-Eye. I also think this action is only barely less important than the south, so I'd rather the new guys deploy up north.

As for the southern assignments, I feel like it's a combo that's worked well already and should work fine for taking the city.
