The earlier we make our designs the more work we get out of the auto-progress. While normally I would say that doing 2 designs in a turn is a trade-off; but given how we still have all these turns before combat starts the downsides are very much mitigated.

The image stays in your eye until the spell is cast a second time to clear it. Take a picture through the binocs, transfer it to paper, clear repeat.

Just hold the binoculars with one hand, and the paper next to your hands while casting the spells. I’m not sure I see the problem?

Snap Lighter Revision.

Spark Ignition, Alchemy Gloves.

By Snapping your fingers, the gases in the air ignites in front of you, causing an explosion and/or flames directed away from the caster. Requires a Glove with the proper Alchemy Circle for igniting gas on them to cast. Can be used for controlled explosions and flame, due to the ability to use the air as a catalyst.

Does not work if the gloves are wet, since the static caused by the snap is the ignition trigger, with mana being used to direct and propagate the invocation's effects.

We can create flame with Mana already, so putting that to a combat purpose might help. Also fairly cheap too, requiring Gloves with the Alchemy Formula on them.

The tesla towers sound interesting, but also hella expensive- definitely not something we can do with our current budget.

I don't think we should be looking into multi-purpose wands before we have spells to cast with them. I mean, as I understand it, most spells require (or at least, work a lot better with) custom wands (eg the monocle for Crystal Memory, the binoculars for Galilei Lensing).

The cloak is a good idea- passing force on without being affected by it is a powerful effect, but doesn't actually require a big change (as mentioned in the proposal). Perhaps it should be called Fulcrum Armour?
Well the idea for the channeled wand is to make casting complicated spells easier but looking at our spell list that isn't something we'll need to worry about for sometime. Also Fulcrum armour is a way better name than kinetic cloak.

Crystal Mind Variant B is pretty much exactly the revision I was planning on posting. Crystal Mind is a neat parlor trick currently but Variant B should turn it into something actually useful.

The Alchemy Gloves seem decent but more like a design rather than just a revision.

We definitely want to save a die for next turn, so we can start two designs. In fact, I'm going to argue we shouldn't spend any dice right now. Yeah, CMv4 would be good, but we can do that at any time before the start of the game (not necessarily at the last minute- turn 0 or -1, probably- so we can fix it if it doesn't work properly)(also, there's a chance that we acquire experience that would make CMv4 easier or more effective, which is another reason not to do it right now). Saving the die is a pretty marginal benefit, but you never know, it could be relevant.
