Gonna say that you can use it immediately, but if not its lost.

((I'm wondering what exactly this means - if, say, I were to make an action based on gathering power right now whilst at my power maximum without using any of it, and somehow rolled super well, enough to get, say, another 5 points of power - would I then have 10 points to play with immediately in my next action? I should probably think up an action as well in case PW wants to update tonight and doesn't have time to answer this question beforehand. Will have to do it later, though.))

Turn 1: You have max power, but gain +1 power putting you at max +1. So demigod would have 6.

Turn 2: You can use that extra power. So if you use 3, you go to 3 at the end of the turn. At the end of this turn, regardless of what you choose, your power lowers to at most 5. If you gain more power as a result of the turn, its then added to the 5 or whatever it is.

Since almighty Attom is busy with more important matters, I will supervise the kitchens and boost the production of food elementals.
I will also spend 3 power to cook up some superior arms and armour with which to equip as many of us as I can, making sure to inscribe the equipment with the holy sigils of the Food God, and record their methods of construction into the Holy Cookbook of Attom.   

Keep an eye (grain?) on the void, as always.
If any of the hedonist boy vessels come within range, I will jump at the chance to test out the Pressure Cooker, spending 1 power to open fire on them.   

If the malignant hypergiant should happen to explode or something, keep another 1 power on hand with which to outrun the blast.
