Claire allowed herself a small feeling of relief as the opponents left standing began to thin out in front of them. A little breathing room. A little time to assist her commander, with Milos' help.

She felt into the magic once more, took the shape of the wind.

"Okay... I've got your back." Even as she said the words, wind was already curling around Grae, slicing this way and that at the tiger to wear it out - dull knives, a thousand cuts against its hide.

Vanessa gave a small bow, her smile growing even wider as she watched the cat give up. It was then she noticed the tiger harassing Alys, her grin faded slightly

"Hey! You leave Alys alone, it should be me you're paying attention to."

She shouted out some magic words and gathered her power once again, a single spark appeared before her and floated down towards the tiger. The seemingly harmless thing drew close to the laguz and then exploded in a shower of coloured light.

Vanessa took in a deep breath and gave a bow, her smile still shining brightly on her face. Time for an intermission. She looked around at everyone else,
"Hey, everyone ok?"

"That's right, you better run, buster!" Clover would yell at the lone retreating survivor of the first wave, grinning as she idly twirled her dagger as she watched the next group approach. She'd look over her shoulder at Vanessa, nodding. "All fine here! I think Grae took the brunt of that one."

Clover taunts the Laguz from her hilltop perch waits.

Milos is taking a lot of deep breaths, only stopping when Vanessa checks up on everyone.

She didn't like seeing any of them hurt. She didn't have the best tome for what she wanted to do, either... but she began to pull at the wind where she could, preparing to hassle and draw the attention of any flankers who might try their luck.

Vanessa looked back over towards the remaining Laguz, giving an over-dramatic sigh as they approached. Seems like it was straight back into the show. She snapped her fingers and balls of light appeared around her, they rose up into the air and began to spin. Faster and faster they moved until reaching a blinding speed and arcing towards the cat that had attacked Milos.

The more the cat attacked Milos, the more he panicked. While the panicked look was evident on his face, he did not shout nor make any noises, and he tried to keep up a determined look about him, occasionally stealing glances to see if Grae was watching him closely to see how he reacted. He tried to keep up a fight, but he was in trouble... all he could do was support his allies and pray that things went well for them.

If only she had a tome that she could control at closer range... Claire wanted to stay in front. She wanted to keep drawing fire. She wanted...

She needed to do her job, and fall back.
